@jerrshoe, I've heard of people doing that. So, you're getting total reliability? Sound pretty interesting to me since it's the thick slide on the 30 I don't like much for IWB carry.

I love my G30 SF, the trigger fell is pretty good and the recoil is easy to control as well.

I have an XDm 3.8 compact 45 with a ported barrel....my carry gun. I absolutely love it.

@GAPPING10, Yep, I never try to hide that fact. I find quite a few guns that come really close for me, but for carry guns, I can't seem to find anything that works better for me.

@buddaman84, I know, I've just done one, the P30. I like them okay. If they were striker-fired, I'd really like them probably. I would not mind having one in .45ACP, but probably not the USP, more likely the standard HK 45, either full size or Compact.

Thanks for all the information Hickok45! You helped me out on many decisions. I chose the Glock 21 gen 3 (thats all they had at the time) and the Blackhawk serpa cqc (lefty). I really like the locking holster concept. It makes me feel even safer! I now have a great setup thanks to your informative videos.

I've had 2 XD45 compacts, 1 XD40 sub-compact, 1 M&P 40c, 1 XDm 45 compact, 1 XDm 9 4.5 and currently my G27 Gen4. The Glock 27 is my favorite carry gun by far.

My carry or edc is a 30sf and since i where overalls i use a clam shell holster from Aegis armory. i owe you a lot Hicjok45 for lots of teaching you have done. So thanx

@BigJT2010, I have nothing against external hammers; I just prefer a consistent, good, trigger pull that is the same for the first shot out of the holster, the second, the third, etc.

Thing I like about the XDm is the BACK STRAP SAFETY. That is a MAJOR selling point in my opinion.

Yes, you sure can sling 'im Hickok45. Did you drop about 1/4 inch or so on the front sight on any of these pistols for long range like the "Gong?"

H45-Your shooting never ceases to amaze me!I have carried the XD for the last few years,but I recently purchased a Glock30 and it has replaced the XD as my everyday carry gun.I still love my XDs,but I am much more accurate with the Glock for some reason.Thank you for another great video and Merry Christmas!!!

I certainly enjoy your videos. I just recently subscribed and am amazed at how many different guns and weapons you address. In the one covering the XDm Comp0act vs the Glock 30 you mentioned that the Glocks are really supposed to use jacketed bullets due to their barrel rifling design. My question is, can you shoot copper coated hard cast bullets in a Glock. Once again, thank you for all of your posts. They are very appreciated and enjoyed!

Mr Hickok, Again what a good comparison video. I 'm a first time hand gun owner and shooter. I mostly have used a rifle and shot gun for years. However, I just bought a XDm 40 cal compact and went to the range yesterday. For a newbe, what a nice feeling gun. Easy to shoot and clean. But, I am having a problem,at 25 feet I have to aim the gun about 8 inches to the upper right hand corner of the target. My cluster is all within 1 inch. Is this normal to lead away from the target this much?

@hickok45 Do you mean the same type of sealers that are in old military ammo. Which have salt in the primers and are corrosive? Is the S&B corrosive ammo?

Great comparison. My wife and I are deciding on a Glock 19 or a Springfield XDm .38 9mm. It looks like we can't go wrong with either one. We both just submitted paperwork for our CPL and are going to be first-time gun owners. Wonderful video! It was fun watching you shoot. You're a good shot!

Do you find it difficult to switch back and forth with the different grip angles? I know you are use to Glocks, but this may make a big difference to someone more familiar with a 1911 grip angle

have you ever tried to put a G36 slide on the G30 frame? I've seen it done but would have no idea if it would affect reliability. Or have you tried Glock's slimline pistols? and your opinions?

Hickok, @ 13:26. did I hear you say there is a round left in the glock mag? Did the slide locked even though there is still a round in the magazine? Isn't that considered a malfunction?

If you already own a G21 probably best to get the G30 ... that's the boat I'm in ... the ability to use my 13 round G21 mags in a G30 just makes the most sense. I do like the features/look of the XDm ... but my G21 isn't going anywhere. Oh, and 65 thumbs down on a hickok45 video? INCONCEIVABLE!!!!

AnibalTV , if you don't understand the ability to carry a larger capacity magazine when you're carrying a more compact version of the same gun for your spare magazine then you must not bother to carry a spare mag. Then there is when you are at the range practicing/training and you don't have to reload as often is a plus. Of course if you are just out shooting for fun not having to reload as often is handy. And the main reason for wanting to interchange a larger capacity magazine IS BECAUSE WE CAN!!!

I have a holster that has storage for an extra magazine, I carry my Glock 30 with the 10 round mag in it and the 13 round mag as the spare so I don't have to compromise the concealment. I sold my first 30 some years back and started carrying a light 1911, and regretted it the whole time, I've since bought a new gen 4 Glock 30 and will never get rid of this one. Tough finish, rust proof, accurate as hell and dependable as they come, I don't need the approval of some wannabe to be happy with my gun, it's their loss.

Herman Ross I agree, I also own the XD mod 2 subcompact 45 acp and I like the fact that it comes with a 13 round mag, actually I prefer it over my Glock 30S, it feels better in my hand

Question What year was the Glock 30 made? I live in Massachusetts and was told i could not buy one for Conceal too Carry weapon yet they had one in the gun store for display go figure but anyway great videos enjoy them all. Dean

hickok, im looking for a relatively cheap handgun that has similar specs to a ruger p95 yet in 40 cal. safetyless but with a double action trigger, and a hammer release. any suggestions?

Hey hickok, Love your videos and reviews! but your size reviews are very decieving~ How big are your hands? I remember watching a video where you said you were 6'5" cause if you are then you probably have pretty big hands? So I just wanted to clarify cause a glock 26/27 looks pretty small in your hands but in my hands it still looks like im holding my glock 19! LOL so i went with the kahr cm9 for my ccw after watching your pm9 videos. But is there a subcompact xdm 3"?

I love when hickok makes little comments that poke fun of people who review these guns and get down into some experiment to find out which is better, and he is really a better reviewer because he tells you what you need to know about the guns basic size and weight and then informs you that all of the guns are more accurate than you are and as long as you practice you will be able to do just fine with whatever you practice with. Thank you Hickok for all you do.

Just spent 2 hours at the range shooting 45's. The Glock 21's grip to trigger was too long for my fingers (which was surprising) The 1911's felt better, but I shot my tightest group of the day with the XDS 3.3.

Let's talk physics indeed. Speed shooters want lighter slides ...less reciprocating mass, hence all the cutouts, etc. that are common in race guns. The slide needs to move far enough to eject and reload on both guns, so which would you assume affects the movement of the gun more, the heavier or the lighter? The frame is where you want the weight to control recoil ...assuming proper spring weights, loads, etc. on the upper. Also, I wonder if the grip safety has anything to do with the extra frame weight. Hmmm ...

Great demonstration on both 45 caliber Springfield XD & Glock 30. You should also do a comparison on the SIG P220, FNX45, HK45, & HKUSP45.

Looks like the XDM has more muzzle flip than the Glock, which is expected given the higher bore axis. Great comparison. Thanks for doing it. Happy Holidays. Love your videos, but shouldn't you weigh them with an empty magazine for comparison purposes? I usually have the magazine in my gun when I carry it.

I am 5'11'' and about 165LBS. I was thinking about getting a G30 Gen4 with a Crossbreed super-tuck. Would you all please be kind enough as to tell me if you think it would be easily concealable/best position to conceal with my body type. I just submitted my CHL info to the state yesterday.
