One thing to note about your first tip (- and + to change manipulator size) is that it also changes your accuracy while manually transforming objects. The bigger the manipulator, the finer control you will get with your mouse. If you are trying to move, rotate or scale something and find that the controls are too twitchy or that they are skipping some increments, try pressing "+" a couple of times. In the later case, also check that you don't have "step snap" enabled in tool settings, heh.

A lot of these are so underrated and I wish more people knew about this kinda stuff. Another good one I see people not utilizing is drag select instead of marque - hold tab to drag over face, verts, edges and it will only be a camera based selection on things your cursor hovers over.

I've just recently discovered your videos and I have a bit of a request. This is something I can't find a video on anywhere but it would be awesome if you would consider doing a video on how to create hotkeys in maya. And I don't mean just the standard way. I mean how to hotkey anything. For instance at 5:25 this option for Toggling Selection Highlighting, can't find it in the hotkey editor at all. There are a lot of weird items in maya that are a pain if not impossible to create hotkeys for (topological symmetry comes to mind). Keep up the great work!

So nice viewport settings O.O i have hotkeys for 4 types for edge loop. Multi Cut, insert looptool, polyConnectComponents and connect from modeling toolkit) They r all useful insert loop tool use for equal loops. poly connect connecting selected vertexes and selected edges middle points. connect from modeling tools best way for multi edge connect. And i have hotkeys for converting vertex-edges-polygons(just easiest way select pole polygons, select 1 mid vertex, convert to poly). And i have hotkeys for loop and ring select coz u can select start and end loop ing edges. Hold tab give u a marker select mode, this useful too.(but i have hotkey for switch without holding). Maybe it will be useful for you

Just pressing "H" allows for hiding and showing the objects - even faster than using ctrl or shift h
