I sussed out the board trick with Heidi and that she was 'in on it' as soon as she was being lifted up purely from how she was holding her legs - kind of one on top of the other, which I've seen other magicians doing and their assistants held their legs in the same way. I'm not sure in a talent competition that judges should be 'in on it' helping the magician though. They should be neutral and watching or participating in a trick normally otherwise how can they judge/score it neutrally, if that makes sense?! Anyway otherwise fascinating video.
@mcdonb2

Plus other magicians perform their tricks on the judges, mostly without the judges being in on it, but how can you be sure now? It’s like this performance brings down all those other performances. I get the magician is supposed to trick the audience, but when the producers and judges are in on the trick it cheapens it greatly

@@bosedeepanjan Not all judges, but the judge being lifted is. Which means that this candidate is only judged by 3 judges instead of 4. And those 3 judges might be impressed by the 4th judge, and more likely to let this candidate win, or go to the next round. All in all it dimishes the 'fair judgement' that you should expect from any talent show.

With the levitation, yes, she's wearing a harness and is in on it, as is the stooge. Instead of a glass rod, it is possible that they used a black metal bar that is capable of sliding out of the base and to the rear of the illusion (Blaney ladder levitation), so that the magician can put his leg in front of it and the stooge can lower his arm.

She probably had way more than 4 pieces of paper in her index in her pocket. To ensure the trick would work, she likely had at least 20 or 30 papers in alphabetical order, and she memorized the positions of each paper. Such pieces of paper likely included 1. A Barbie doll 2. A regular doll 3. A toy car 4. A shirt 5. A pair of pants 6. A pair of shoes 7. A flower 8. A stuffed animal 9. A teddy bear 10. A board game 11. A ball 12. Musical instruments 13. A tricycle 14. A wagon 15. Writing and drawing utensils (crayons, markers, etc) 16. A potty 17. A poster of some sort 18. A pet 19. A pet toy 20. A TV 21. Video games 22. Water balloons

In the first act, the magician's assistants were not under the platform, but behind the safe. When the right door (spectator's right) was opened, the assistant came out from behind the safe and went behind the door. When the bottom of the safe was closed, the assistant came out from behind the door and went behind the safe. When the right door closed, the assistant entered the safe.

For the trick where the AGT judge, Heidi, is in on the illusion, how can she still be a judge? It ruins the show's credibility.

@@irehman7 Missed my point completely. Limonene is a solvent, naturally occurs in orange peel, part of orange essential oil, smells like oranges and softens latex, balloons are made of. I am 99.995% sure is what is in the spray, If You say it smells like oranges. I am also 100% sure lemon juice, which is about 30% citric acid - wont make the balloon explode, and would already be very unpleasant if sprayed in the eye. You can trust me, I am chemist. With the first one I am actually more interested to know how the underfloor compartment is concealed. You can see a difference in the details, but how are we seeing the guys feet? If it's mirrors it needs to be passing that image around an occupied space, so what's the arrangement?

Can you do some breakdowns on mentalists? Like Max Major? Does he know the people and it's all bullshlt or is there more to it? I think there have been a couple in the Penn and Teller show as well, but I'm not sure. Maybe Oz Pearlman has been on TV. Max Major is pretty good though, if it's not all staged.

The Darcy Oake trick - if that really involves stooges, and no less than one of the judges herself - is revolting. For the balloon act, sorry but I guess I'm not so satisfied with the explanation. Having just 4 drawings for the multiple out is crazy. While statistically the 4 are the top ones there are practically unlimited tangible items that could also come up (like books, comics, board game, a dress, a musical instrument, diary, card, photo, etc.)

The Howie mind reading thing is a very outlandish theory lol! It's a fact that Howie is colour blind and a 100 trained monkey's could fill a pot with a ton of more logical explanations 😂 Love the way you explain the intricacies of classic illusions though! I guess some things are better left for the audience to ponder, no? 🙄 Magic proper muddles my own brain, I can't fathom the complex stuff! Especially after a night with the effects of a beerglass or two 🍻 Not sure I could handle it on KZfaq!! Not sure I want to...😁

It's not about colorblindness. If it is then the performers have to know exactly what type of colorblind howie is (red-green, blue-yellow, monochromacy, achromatopsia, etc.). Also the images are unsaturated with not much hue in them, so I agree, the images are designed to appear differently when seen from afar and when seen close up.

The explanation of the first trick seemed rather lacking. You never explained how the blonde assistant appeared at the beginning, and you also failed to explain how the body double was able to hide behind the platform without being visible. The platform was raised so that meant we should have been able to see the hidden area. Was there a mirror or something that was concealing it?
@irehman7
@irehman7 10 ай бұрын
I never said the double was behind the platform. I have done this platform tricks reveal way to many times , the person is always hiding inside the platform. Notthe thickness , there is also bulge underneath the platform to hold the body. The woman that appears in the beginning doesn't need an explanation I am pretty sure you are a regular viewer and such a basic trick is pretty obvious.

No it’s not, its just different. Its what some people love to see, and that’s ok. Close up, roaming, outdoors/indoors, long/short performance, bare bones or multiple assistants/costumes/music/lights, medium stage, huge auditorium, tv… all require different types of performances. It’s kind of like people saying that ballet and breakdancing are comparable, when really it’s an apples and oranges situation.
