Please forgive my simple english. It was a spontanous video session. But it's worth to study because I finish up with a lot of wrong prejudices and desastrous teaching errors about this fine and efficient high jump technique. And it's much easier as they all say.

I don't know if you still use this channel but i really wanted to thank you,i had to jump at least 1,10 for the physical test to join the military,i know it's easy but i really couldn't do it with the scissor kick and i couldn't learn the fosbury flop because all the atheltics gym in naples were closed because of summer universiade, and only by watching your videos and trying it a copule of times on the bed i was able to jump 1,20. I don't know i i will make till the end but i am very thankful to you because without your videos i don't know if i would have made it

I wish I had had you to coach me when I was jumping. Clear and inspirational explanations and demonstrations. Makes me want to jump again. So much simpler and more elegant than the Fosbury Flop.

Thank you Thomas for these videos on Straddle, as a 59 year old I can scissor 1.60m but my personal best 2 years ago is only 7cm higher using the flop , i just can't get the flexibility in my back to get an arch over the bar. I think the straddle is looking more achievable and will give it a go. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks very much

Could someone, please, explain why the so elegant straddle technique has practically died out in high jumping? Thank you, Thomas Zacharias, for the very useful instruction!

Sorryly public opinion and correspondingly excess of ignorance even in the most famous universities. But there are so much more important omissions in politics, industries and nature saving. Humanity is only a divine experiment. Kind greetings, Thom

Tolles Video - DANKE!

Hi Naz!! As a beginner the most simple way is scissor tec. Approach same as flop but just landing on your free leg. If then you prefere to land on your shoulders may be you reach some 5 or 10 cm more. Good luck!!
