4 жыл бұрын"High Sierra" was one of our early songs for KZfaq, and we recorded it in the studio before filming at Sycamore Creek ranch in Branson, Missouri. We now have both Aaron Clark and Troy Dixon on board, and record our video and audio together live.
It was written by Harry Allen and performed by The Trio, a female group of Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt.

I got to meet them in person after a show they did here in utah. I can tell you they are the kindest people. Got all their autographs and a photo standing with Emmet which I really desired because I think he's one of the best dobro players in the world today.

Their voices are similar, so they blend well. That's why family band harmonies sound so good. And using the one large-diaphragm microphone is also very important for the sound.

The Petersens, who are well dressed, and clearly take care of themselves, provide us with good wholesome music in an era dominated by way too much degeneracy and debauchery. You are the antithesis to MTV, Hollywood, and the like. You folks hearken back to a time that couldn't anticipate the garbage we have to wade through in our times. Thank you for your work, and God-loving music. God willing y'all will be coming up to Canada for a tour in the future.

I just love this performance! Ellen has several breaks in her voice that make it especially moving. One of her best. The harmony was so very well done. The guys, as usual, were rock solid ... so talented. Please stay together you are so great. It's amazing to me that you can perform so many genres of music so well. I've simply never seen such a diverse, talented, group of musicians. I know its said too often, but you could sing the phone book and I'd be listening and enjoying it! Mama, I love you and your family and hope you can keep them together for a long time to come!

I have been overwhelmingly quite amazed with the A Capella group HOME FREE .... but, stumbled across these wonderful Family Group of singers / musicians ..... and I will say much the same can be said for them !!! The reason I can't stop watching and listening to you guys is because I can't find what you give us anywhere else, is like going back in time where things were clean, pure and simple. I was in a bluegrass band in high school - that was in the ‘70s. I played the double bass, or bass guitar as the gig required. We had one male vocal, and we were in as much demand as the local area and times could create. Oh we sure wanted to find a couple of female vocals - we wanted to keep a clean image, and never could put it together. Thanks for bring me the fond memories. God bless.

Wow this is lovely!! I was sitting alone in my room an angel visiting earth from heaven ... flew into my room and asked brother what were you listening to sounded feint from the heavens ....i said yep i was using my earphones ....so i placed the ear plugs on the angel played this song....His eyes lit up in wonder eyes gazed to me mind immersed into the song...i whispered to him . ...your choir duties are over he just nodded he said at last i can rest we have a replacement right here. Okay, I just had my mind blown. I have watched this video probably 50 times, and I only now caught on that it wasn't recorded live! First of all you guys are definitely perfectionists because watching you I couldn't see anyone play a note that didn't match with the audio and every facial expression was heartfelt and perfectly in sync! Second, this just shows how great your live audio is now, that I just "assumed" it was live! Incredible!1

I totally agree with you Steven, this is an almost perfect and very professional video shoot from them. It was not easy though, I heard it was very rainy that day and they were constantly struggling to keep their balance (tripping, heels sinking into the ground, that kind of stuff). I thought I'd mention it because it makes this performance even more incredible.

Just gorgeous! I love Ellen's singing, the soaring harmonies and the amazing instrumentation. Your 'cover' has once again exceeded the "original"! You all sure "knocked this one out of the ball park"!! This is now my favorite. I could listen to this all day long!

I love Ellen, I really do, but can't agree this exceeds the originial. No doubt this is the best cover but nobody bests Linda's singing. Well, maybe Alison Krauss. Maybe.
