Every time I hear talk about the high value man, from someone who calls himself a high value man (or who says he knows how they operate), I’m intrigued by how little values and morals this “high value man” actually has. All the points made about how the HVM has options, are wielded almost as a threat. And the threat is: You need to put up with whatever I throw at you, or I will exercise my options against you. It’s amazing really.

As a single parent from a long term relationship, I definitely can relate to this video. Being a single parent does make the dating pool harder for me, but I won't settle. Although I didn't always stick to it, now I try my best to stick my Christian values when finding a spouse. I agree and believe a high value is mainly dealing with character and morals. I also want to point out that some women are single mother’s because the father passed away.

This is exactly what that certain "high value" man's problem is. He was overlooked in his youth so now he has notoriety and some money it's time to dump on women. I thought he only had a problem with older women or what he considers old. To me 30s is not old. But this male moves the goalpost a lot. Recently he was on someone's podcast and he goes off on the younger women too. So I've come to the conclusion the "older" women because they know a few things and are more confident with themselves they're not his type. Because they are not as naive as the 20 year olds. The 20 year olds are his type because they can be his punching bags. He can dump all his insecurities and frustrations on them. That man is an emotional vampire. And after all the verbal abuse for years by the time the 20 year old gets to her 30s she's worn out physically and emotionally and he will drop her rinse and repeat. If anything your standards should be higher that's being a good parent and protecting you and your child wellbeing

I feel sorry for people who take the term "high value man" as fact when it's simply a matter of opinion and mostly defined by superficial bullshit at that. The men I've seen claiming themselves to be "high value" always seem to use it to hide deep insecurities. Furthermore, the fact that it's used as an excuse for men to be irresponsible partners (what Kevin Samuels calls "exercising options") is especially damaging. The black community has enough dysfunction to deal with as it is. We shouldn't be supporting ideas that allow men to disregard their partners and families to cheat...my bad, "exercise their options" with no regard to their responsibilities to their families. A man I'd consider to be truly high value would be responsible enough to stay out of a committed relationship if he really wanted to explore his options. I think this is one of the single most damaging ideas Kevin Samuels and his ilk promotes.

I mean in a way your standards need to be higher once you have a child. Cus you need to protect your child, and make sure they are the right person to introduce them to. And you don’t want to get your emotions involved with a troubled man and then it will affect your child.

Just wanted to point out that many (dunno the actual percentage) single mothers who are divorced chose to be single mothers. There is about a 50% divorce rate today. 80% of these divorces are initiated by women. I know of a few women who divorced their husband and broke their family because they thought the grass was greener or she got bored. It happened to me and her excuse still remains....she was unhappy. And she admits that I was a good husband. I always worked, never cheated, helped around the house, listened to her, etc. I'm not asking 4 sympathy, but saying after talking to a few folks and doing some research....THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON these days. Nobody really talks about it though. Just because a woman was married doesn't mean she is somehow she is a virtuous woman. I cant lie, it did change my mind when it comes to marriage though. I personally wouldn't do it again. The funny thing is that she still thinks she's a "good" women who deserves a good man. I understand your position, but women like her could easily see your content and feel justified in what they do since society never puts any blame on them. But I know there is a lot of money out here for men who pander to women like this. Get your bread. I'm a single mother... I was engaged to my ex when we had our daughter. I left cos he had girls in the side while I was raising our baby... and my body couldn't jump straight to what it was after I gave birth. I had to wait 6 months before having sex again. Yep! I had a big baby. Nonetheless, I'm still single cos I'm trying to find someone who doesn't want to jump straight to bed with me. It's been like 3 years, but my God is working.

Spot on and well said, even though the woman did have a child in a previous relationship, that absolutely does not mean that she is no longer entitled to have standards or change her opinion of what she wants in a man. What the man on the clip should've done was praise her for learning from her experience in the sense that she knows not to be so willing to give up sex straight away. However, ideally from my perspective as a Christian getting someone to love you purely before you offer them sex is just not enough if you're looking for a committed relationship, because sex was created for the protective barrier that is marriage. Offering sex outside of marriage shows that even though yes the case may be that you love (Or do not love) someone because marriage is a terminal commitment, it shows that you love a person, but not enough to commit to them forever hence why you offer sex outside of marriage. A person of faith that loves God and both you, knows the true significance in withholding sex until marriage to prevent these things that are very prevalent in the world today such as children being raised in single parent household, people catching STD's etc, the list goes on. Of course preventing these cases are not just the only reason to withhold sex until marriage, there can be personal reasons, your own relationship with Christ etc. However I'd like to shed light on this aspect as I do not believe that it's spoken about openly enough in society. Also finally I'd like to add that The Shumake Way, you are very right to clarify that not all single mothers are the stereotypical nuance that is the "loose girl" that is willing to have a child with every and all men. Some women as you said did get there from failed long term relationships or other unprecedent reasons, hence why people should approach single parents with less judgement as you will never know (unless you know the person yourself personally) the circumstances that led to them being the single parent that they're today.
