When a coil is magnetized, and the power is turned off, it produces an indictive spike. I use these impulses in my research. To get them in the kilo volt range, my MOSFET switch needs to be able to handle these voltages. therefor I use two 1200V SiC MOSFET's in series.
I had problems before with my isolated gate driver IC creating a short cut, which limited the voltage. Now I use new conversion SMD PCB's that I made in my last video. In this video I will test them out.

The hard part is figuring out how to isolate the high and lowside drivers to get them to operate properly in series at the same time (because if they are out-of-phase it will cause one to likely become overvolted and pop) Most likely you will end up having to drive every gate from a different winding on a shared inductor core. Especially if driving more than about 3 FETs
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 3 жыл бұрын
Actually that is easy. Just use the same parts, and the same signal, and they switch simultaneously. Right now I'm only switching High side. If I would also switch lowside (as in a half bridge circuit), it would not be simultaneously, as that would create a shortcut)

I was reading his patents on this. Main advantage of such coil Tesla said is the potential difference between turns is small and more safe to work with as there is no arcing at high voltages for that reason. Other benefits he mention to be related to capacitance and what we call today impedance. He said that you could use it with no external capacitor in some cases as coil it self has it and its equally distributed in coil sufficiently to negate some unwanted effect with resistance and inductance. Interesting project.

Hello Master Ivo... your work is very inspiring and I have followed and built a variety of coils and switching circuits also. The first study and test was high-side with low-side switching of the coil to isolate the coil from +V and circuit Ground. Did not work well (POP!! goes a mosfet). So, I stacked 4 diodes from +V to the Coil. +V > D1 > D2 > D3 > D4 > Coil. And, added 3 diodes between D1 and D2 going to ground. This worked well with low side switching protecting the power supply and isolating the coil. With a new circuit, I tried first high-side switching and then low-side switching with 2 mosfets in series a similar failure occurred that you experienced. The coil-side mosfet failed. Drain to Source permanently open. Drain to Gate permanently closed bi-directional. This stressed the Gate biasing circuit pumping +V in through the Gate which over heated the biasing ground resistor and zener and then in to the biasing pulse generator which overheated the bias resistor. Which failure occurred first? I'm guessing the mosfet... then the biasing circuit. My thought, it is not your HSM failing first. Maybe, something to do with a better dual-mosfet Drain-Source protection on high current side... maybe reconsider adding diodes in series. Thought: failure always occurred on start-up when the circuit is totally drained of energy with-in, maybe a sequence startup of mosfets (lock 1 mosfet on state, start 2nd mosfet pulse-state, release 1st mosfet to sequential pulse state). For now, I'm only using 1 mosfet (IRF840, cheap) until I figure out an output tank circuit. With the +V and diode high side circuit and 1 mosfet low-side, I've isolated the coil from +V (~32v) and isolated from ground. As of now, going to o-scope reading the coil +side and -side spike outputs under electrolytic capacitor load with rectifier feed. Then how to feed an L2 resonant circuit using a single SiC mosfet rated at 1200v. Maybe this will work for what I envision for an end-game. Great work Mr Ivo!!!! Hats off to ya.
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 3 жыл бұрын
thanks, IRF840 has max 20V on the gate. and gate threshold is 10V, guess this is not the problem. it can handle 500V between drain and source, I suspect, your impulses are more than 500V and this is what kills them

Hi Ivo, I have a question regarding the resonance frequency. I have learned that there is a natural frequency of every coil because of its capacitive and inductive characteristics. For example I have a pancake coil that measures 55uH and 120nF; that will establish a resonant frequency of 61.95KHz; if another coil has 55uH and 100nF that it can be made to resonate at 61.95KHz if a 20nF capacitor is used in series with 100nF, then both the coils will resonate at the same frequency. If so then why we have to match weight of the coils, why a secondary coils has to have 1/4 wave length. Please specify and if you can also explain how you resonate a coil by adding various capacitors; and why not you calculate and come up with the same frequency or harmonics of primary coil's resonance frequency. Thank you.
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 3 жыл бұрын
Good questions. simply adding a series capacitor doesn't always work, as it needs to charge AND discharge, so that only works with AC signals. calculations do not always give the same results in reality. For example the Probe measuring the frequency can influence the capacity. Also, a bifilar coil has series AND parallel capacity, which makes calculations and modeling a little bit tricky. Yes capacity and inductance determine the resonant frequency, So why equal mass? To be honest I am not sure why. Eric Dollard also stated, it was probably not equal mass but equal capacity as it refers to the dielectric field. What I think, but still have not confirmed, is that we need equal mass, because we are dealing not only with resonance but also with electro static induction. let me explain. Yes L2 and L3 are the primary and secondary coils (april 2019 radiant power circuit video) L2 is series resonant L3 is parallel resonant. When L2 and L3 are tuned to the higher LMD resonance, the voltage maximums are out of phase. so far, equal mass isn't needed. but now we introduce the impulses on L2. L2 and L3 form the plates of a capacitor, which is charged up by the positive dc offset of L2. This L2 L3 coil capacitor, is discharged by the impulses. this rapid (disruptive) discharge produces a Longitudinal wave. for this longitudinal wave to interact we need equal mass. Then we can see the effects of this longitudinal wave, else it will not interact. Again, I have not proven this. It is still an Idea. It is based on Tesla's writtings. the quarter wave length, is mysterious to me as well. I feel it only relates to straight AM radio antenna's that are grounded on one side. By using a quarter wave length, the top of the antenna will have maximum signal amplitude, which makes it like a wip. This maximizes the radio signal, as the energy is lost from the antenna, it wips up the Aether, giving lossy transverse waves So for a coil this does not make any sense. A bifilar coil can store much more energy due to its mutual inductance, and the increased voltage difference between the windings that charge up the capacitance. So I bet a bifilar coil is a bad antenna. But you could extend the center of the resonant coil, again with a quarter wave rod antenna, and place a capacity ball on top, like Tesla did. then the high voltage of the resonant coil can escape the coil, into the ball capacity. And if there are impulses imposed on them, it would make a good antenna. But not of transverse waves, but longitudinal waves that are not lossy. I hope this helps.

Dear Ivo: Thank you for the explanation. It is quite clear to me now as it makes a whole lot of sense the way you explained. I am also an Electrical/Electronics Engineer, graduated for US university in Texas. My studies are somehow more on finding a relationship between Electromagnetic forces and gravity. I did make a disc 3" dia, and it floats 1ft above the ground; I also made a field generator (using electromagnetic waves) that affects every material regardless of its atomic nature; meaning if I put a pencil in the field generator, it will spin the pencil; a rod, or any material, the field has gravity like effect; just as gravity pulls back every object tossed up in the air (not exceeding the escape velocity) I have been working for last 16 year on increasing the field effect of my gravity field generator to no remarkable success so far. Now recently I revisited my old project and started applying new techniques; one of which is resonating the solenoid in that generator. Any way, It is very fascinating watching your videos with clear demonstration, huge amount of experience and knowledge, and your unconditional sharing; perhaps that is why I am proud to be a donor to support your mission. @@MasterIvo , Love your work! Very precise compared to my switching. Yes the plate distance controls the heat exchange capacitance. A rule of thumb I've discovered for working low seed energy propagating plasma containment is a space distance of about 1 7/8 inches (7.3025 centimeters). I noticed a self adjusting resonating effect propagating heat with open air capacitance coils. My first discovery of this duplicatable effect was with alcohol burners constructed from aluminum soft drink cans. (known as penny burners) With this spacing I could add water to the alcohol for a mixture of a little less than 40 percent pure alcohol to 60 percent tap water. This distance between the parabolic shapes got the longest burn times from the fueled plasma of up to 20 minutes burn time per 1 ounce mixture. I've found this spacing to actually be an electrical conversion with open air non Ferris capacitance values consuming all the fuel. I love working with asymmetrical electric motive conversions. I've worked with radius bifilar pancake coils up to 30 cm with this spacing adding a little parabolic cup with this spacing distance. My unproven theory is that ambient nitrogen aether element is what Nikola Tesla found to resonate with? I believe he learned to manipulate localized asymmetrical (Parametric resonating) cycled imbalance of atmospheric nitrogen densities creating an atmospheric battery/capacitor. He controlled the discharge rate by creating variable ozone spark chambers. The main fuel that facilitates the at ground level preparations was probably anhydrous ammonia and a natural flowing underground water stream. A very inexpensive fuel consumption for the energy that's harnessed. The RF transmissions of usable electricity from there is well known. With his system depending where the ground potential was tapped it's possible with the receiver to facilitate AC or DC Electrical Power employment delivery. My favorite is working with out of phase cold energy with high potential and using resistance to bring it back in phase to produce very hot energy with very little seed energy input. You are on the path to realizing very high Q factors. It's not a free lunch however it's amazing to do more with less when tapping into the bipolar parametric resonance field. Cheers

You are creating a lot of negative "cold" electricity. It is not your ordinary electricity (resulting in heat death), but a very special one! You can do a lot with it! You can convert it back to positive electricity and use it by ordinary means with no benefit, or it can do work for you for free and can multiply. You just need to collect it at L2 or L3 (at a point with no electrical connection to the source, just to earth ground = it is a product of resonance) using bridge rectifier and HV electrolytic condenser. You then pulse-discharge this condenser using power thyristor diode through one or multiple impedances connected in series (as via long antena) into the ground. As Bedini said, if you tune the impedances right, you shall be able to harvest copy of the energy at each node (...of said antena) to collect the upper harmonics. Or better - at multiple transformers' primaries. The transformers thus shall be similar (similar lenght of wire in their winding / node) and tightly connected. Thick wiring shall be used on them as these pulses are over 100Amps! Also have a tuning impedance aka rheostat (an old-school variable resistor) on this line to do the magic and optimize energy transfer and "communicate" with your L2/L3 back to excite even more electrons into them from the ground. Only major obstacle is, you will need special core material for these transformers of high magnetic permeability at radio frequencies in 10-100KHz, at which the pulses will be driven through the transformers' primaries. Otherwise you can cook fries on them *eddy currents. Use nanocrystalline or Metglas amorphous material for the cores. Make your special transformer(s). And also off course be sure to electrically isolate your controlling module for the thyristor from its cathode by using optocoupler (or by using special light triggered thyristor with opticial cable), otherwise say bye bye to your precious timing module :) If you find success, varistors help limit the excess energy. So you don't end up in huge plasma ball. !!!BE VERY CAREFUL!!! KEEP SAFE AND GOOD LUCK!

Maybe i get a cheaper 2000 volt probe and add some resistors to the probes end ! Would that work? I am thinking it should but how would i know if my reading are true ? I was thinking run a test at 2000v and then use estimated resistors to divided it in half to 1000v onthe scope but would that be linear and still half as i come up to 4000v on the test point ?

Regarding your initial circuit, I keep blowing midgets or not getting results, may I ask if drain of mosfet is connted to positive 12v battery then what is the negative side of battery connected to? Same question is using dc to dc converter? Also in your newer high-side circuit from the diagram I can’t tell what you connect the mosfet drain to?? Lastly I have many gate drivers and mosfets and I read the spec sheets over and over but I’m at a loss. To understand how to match a gate driver to mosfet? Any help would be greatly appreciated, happy to send you a private email and donate as well

***not magnets I mean mosfets, sorry
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 3 жыл бұрын
the battery is only powering the gate driver circuit(including buck converter). the mosfet is connected to a separate power supply, if the drain is positive, than the source is connected to the L1 coil, amd the L1 coil (other side of the coil) is connected to the negative. The battery is a separate power supply circuit! its negative is the mosfet source. hope this helps. each mosfet type prefers it own Vgs, this voltage between gate and source makes it switch. some mosfets need 15V Vgs, others need 10v Vgs others 20Vgs. the gate driver needs to be able to supply this voltage. that is supplied by the battery (in my circuit).
@chrisgargas4538
@chrisgargas4538 3 жыл бұрын
Yes but how do you power the mosfet drain? There is only one connecting point, so if the separate power source is a battery or dc converter or bench, where do you connect the other negative lead? I’m confused beacuse any separate power supply has at least 2 wires negative and positive but the mosfet drain only has one pin?

@@MasterIvo Yes this is it. You success. It look like if somebody is persistent enough they stop deleting posts. I am curious if this work. With usual coil it doesn't work. I tested it. There is no resonance, just back emf. But if bifilar coil has a capacitance then it is possible. So I am curious could you test it, because you already have all components made. In monofilar/ordinary coil there is effect of increasing brightness of light bulb, but this is because of back emf of coil. But with brightness comes also bigger power drain. Actually bemf is one part of resonance (coil part) second part is condenser part. Coil which is behaving also as condenser is a device which could be an answer. So at right frequency input we expect drop of input power by same brightness of light bulb.
@MasterIvo
@MasterIvo 3 жыл бұрын
yes coil that is a capacitor is what I am working on. a capacitor has 2 plates. for the plates I use 2 bifilar pancake coils. I use 3 coils (radiant power circuit of april 2019) to create a feedback loop. L2 and L3 ar the capacitor plates. L3 is the middle coil of the 3 coil stack

@@MasterIvo I saw your work. It is nice and well documented. Congratulation on that. So did you test that circuit of that boy Daniel? If we connect a simple 12V light bulb on square DC signal it lit. If we connect a coil parallel to it, light bulb increase brightness. But power increase too. No matter what is the frequency of input. I tested it. There is a claim if connect a bifilar coil instead of ordinary coil comes to resonance at right frequency and as consequence power on input drop instead of increase. This is very simple test. What are you doing is far more complicated. So are you capable of this simple test or should I made a bifilar coil and test it myself?
