Love how the questions asked are actually related to what the people are saying and shows shes actually listening unlike others. “Any advice for someone who’s been fired from a job?” was a good one that actually might help people. Nice job!

Computer programmers are not being layed off a lot. If you look at the stats most tech layoffs were not software engineers or programmers. Only 20% of the layoffs were computer programmers and engineers. 80 % of the layoffs where other workers but they worked in tech.

Where I live, despite being a big and expensive city, people earn between 7k and 16k a year, I wonder how companies there manage to generate so much wealth to the point of providing this level of salary to employees.

Look at the locales of the people with the highest stated compensation packages. Note that most of them are a base that's 60 to 75% of total comp, plus bonuses and stock. Their bases are higher because they live in high-cost-of-living urban centers, which are where those types of jobs are concentrated. They seem inflated, but they're honestly not.
@liam1902
@liam1902 4 ай бұрын
Remember that Hannah (STS) is asking "how much do you make?" and not "what is your salary?". This means people can answer with a total amount that consists of their salary, sign-on bonus, annual bonus, commission, and stocks. Some people also represent it incorrectly though. For example if Google pays a Senior Software Engineer in NYC a $200k base salary, 20% annual bonus ($40k), and $400k worth of stocks over 4 years, some people will go "I make $650k depending on stock performance" rather than it technically being an average of $315k per year for the next 4 years (depends on how much stock % of that $$$ amount is given to you per year). And the people saying they are making $100k-$400k are not lying cause it's definitely possible (could also be in VHCOL/HCOL areas). Obviously these super high numbers are uncommon cause if you were to pick people off the street in an average part of the US, majority are prob going to be saying they make like $30k-$80k per year so there will be a few outliers that make A LOT compared to the many that make little.

These are accurate numbers for high earners in these jobs. She also has videos of people with similar job titles who make less. It depends on a lot. But I have access to HR-style data across industries that shows this is correct for the high earners in fields like these.

That's the thing most lower income earners or people otherwise bad with money can't comprehend. Most wealthy people don't go around wearing flashy clothes, eating food with gold on it, etc. That's generally what people who live off of debt and/or are cash poor do because they think that's what wealthy people do. Not saying people making those big incomes never live flashy.....but the smart ones simply live well below their means regardless, and thus have a ton of money/assets saved for a rainy day, can afford money/stocks/assets working for them on top of their jobs, and can even afford to retire early if they choose to do so.
