@Blocka Wocka Atlanta is safe. There was a 28% reduction in crime within the city, according to a recent article in Urbanize Atlanta. In fact, crime is hyped up in most major cities to create a certain narrative. Crime is lower in the US than in the early 80's. All police departments have increased budgets as well.

I love these types of interviews. These are real people, with real jobs/salaries really making an impact within society. Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur or social media influencer. Social media has us believing everyone needs to make (x) amount of money to be happy, enjoy life, etc. I enjoy watching regular people & listening to their "why's". This is awesome.

It speaks volumes that the educators and folks working in Child Protection make so little income. When you witness it (or run in to trouble yourself) you want these people to be VERY good at their job. A thriving community depends, not just on people spending but people carrying out these important jobs with pride and professionalism so remember that the next time you whine about ‘government’. I hope they are receiving compensation outside money.

You have to remember that we're only seeing the people who agreed to talk to her AND agreed to tell how much they make. People in low-wage jobs might feel embarrassed to tell someone how much they make, especially knowing that it's going to be posted on KZfaq. That's why young, high-earning people are always overrepresented in this channel's videos. I'm not blaming them for that. They can only post what they get and what they get is usually going to be people who are willing to talk about what they do and how much they make, and who feel good about both.

It always puzzles me why people think their pay should be based on how high it is. Your salary is determined based on the knowledge, skill, and ability in doing the job you were hired. Don’t get stuck in a job that doesn’t have potential to be promoted. It would be nice if employers shared the gains with employees but that doesn’t always happen.
@stephenjbro
@stephenjbro Жыл бұрын
Salary is heavily based on the market -- sure knowledge, skill, and ability play a role in your salary but you could be an expert in your field and still get paid $60k if demand in that field is low.
@Dud-in9iu
@Dud-in9iu Жыл бұрын
Pay is based more on how much in-demand your skillset is compared to the available supply. If you have a unique skill that is highly in demand but few people do it then you get paid well. If you have a valuable skill, but everyone does it then you won't get paid well.

From my experience living near Atlanta and knowing a lot of people who live in and around the city itself, the "high" earners are outliers. I'm guessing she edited out alot of the boring, low-income jobs and mixed lower middle-class and upper middle-class in with a few of the rich people she found. And of course being on camera, people do sometimes lie, especially if they've built up a keeping up with the Joneses lifestyle and need to be perceived as much wealthier than they are.

Sounds like a person who is still finding what they want in life or she was just lying. Most real estate agents make 3% commission on sales, so excluding what they have to pay to their realtor/agency, and of course income taxes, she would ve making about $100,000 from the real estate sales commission. That could easily be $50-60k net once you take out license fees, realtor commission, and income taxes, but still doesn't seem like someone who is selling $3 million+ per year in real estate would leave to be a flight attendant.

I feel bad for the coach. Making only $37k as a man is horrible for your dating life. Women get the privilege of not having to worry about their own income.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. I had a massive crush on a guy who made around that much. He was very good with money - owned an old car but mostly biked, cooked really well, built a lot of his own furniture, always had books from the library. He even took a month off every summer to go out to California, where he grew up, to surf and hang out with his friends. When he first told me about that, I said "Wow, I'd love to be able to do something like that." He said, very kindly but also very matter-of-factly "If you save your money, you can do whatever you want." This guy was smart, kind, interesting, funny and never, ever lacked attention from women.

Most women prefer men who don't have to be frugal. Most men also lack charisma so they have to make up for it with resources aka money. It also wouldn't last long if you dated him and he never improved his income.

@Richard Counterpoint: Being frugal requires skill, resourcefulness, and creativity. Those are all traits that women highly value in men. What would be unattractive is a man who makes a moderate income but spends as if he makes much more, which would signal irresponsibility and immaturity. An adequate income is important for any adult because it's necessary just to live a stable life and plan for the future. But beyond just making enough to support himself, have some savings, and stay out of excessive debt, I think most women value a lot of other traits more highly than income. Also, a man who enjoys what he does and finds it meaningful, like this coach, but makes a moderate income is much more appealing than one who makes more but constantly complains about his job. If the only women you're interested in are the hottest of the hot, women who have all the ideal aesthetics, then yeah, maybe they're going to use their looks to their advantage to attract men with the most money and it'll be hard for you to date many of those women if you aren't a high earner. But most regular women probably just want a regular man with a regular old steady job, who's responsible with his money and has the other characteristics that make him a good partner.

@@tltinatl It’s not his frugalness that attracts you. He also has other traits that you like because it gives you the impression that he has the ability to boost his income. You will pick a wealthy man over him with all else being equal if you had the option. The dating market has also significantly changed due to social media. You will also want kids someday which requires more resources and women innately understand that. That income cannot support children.

@@BlowitAllUp I have enough experience in the world to know that when you get into a relationship with someone, what you see is what you get. I know that you have to accept that everything about them, from their salary to their habit of putting dishes in the sink instead of checking to see if they'll fit in the dishwasher, to the way they drive, might not change very much, ever. I know not to get caught up in thinking what a guy might be/could be/should be in the future. You can't date or marry a man's "potential" or an idea of how great he'd be if he earned more/dressed better/had a different sense of humor/whatever. You have to decide whether the person you see in front of you right now is someone that you can accept as-is, with the qualities he has or lacks. A lot of younger women might not have had a chance to learn that yet but I'm well past those days. Having kids isn't something I've ever been interested in. But if I wanted to, there would have to be a very specific, honest conversation about what each of our financial roles would be once kids were in the picture. Some women do fall into the trap of assuming that their partner is going to suddenly turn into Daddy Provider Workhorse, when they've never talked about that, and end up disappointed.

Although I am retired from another type of business that I sold several years ago, I have a current business and I might work the equivalent to a 3 day work week sometimes. Yesterday I worked about 30 minutes and made $550. Today I worked about 4 minutes and made $550. Tomorrow I'll work about 45 minutes and make $550. Sometimes I make $500 and sometimes up to $700. About 2 times a week I work 2-3 hours a day but I bring in $0 for those hours because those hours are spent getting things ready. I could never work 1 minute for someone else no matter the pay. By the way... the business where I made my wealth was house cleaning. My now ex and I started cleaning houses and that evolved in to 2 businesses and then 3 and 4 and 5... then we split up and sold them. That business was hell... 24/7 but hellish profit!
