Hiking Puu Manamana to Turnover is another fun adventure to one of the mountains of Hawaii 100 Highest Peaks list. The hike itself has everything what you expect from a Hawaii hiking trail. Beautiful ocean and mountains views, rock faces, narrow ridge lines, jungle bushwhacking and so on.
Turnover is #91 on the list with an elevation of 2076ft.
Please don't use this video as a guide for you future hiking activities. This hiking route it's unsafe and very dangerous, mistakes made up here can have consequences such as serious injury or death. Make sure you know your own limitations and be a safe out there! In this new series of videos I am embarking on a journey to climb Hawaii’s 100 highest peaks.
My list is based on LOJ (listsofjohn.com) which in my opinion is one of the best websites to enlist all the peaks in the USA.

Some of these peaks were never climbed before, or maybe I just couldn’t find any documented attempts or ascents. I am looking forward to an adventurous challenge for sure! I hope you guys enjoy this episode, and feel free to leave any feedback in the comments section.

I Love your videos and I'm surprised that more people don't watch them. Or at least like them. My question for you is how do you keep your feet dry when you were crossing rivers? I have seen several videos where you have done river crossings in your shoes and pants but seem to remain dry.

Thank You John for the positive feedback! To tell you the truth most of the time when I am going through streams I just try to rock hop to the other side, but of course that doesn’t always works. I am just going through the stream with my trail runners and usually if I get to dryer trail, the shoe will driy by the end of the day. That is why my advice always to people is to wear trail runner because they dry faster. Boots will get heavy from the water, and they never dry. Thank You for the question!

Could you compare this to pali notches?

Pali Notches is a very short hike compare to this, but you have to use the ropes to descend between the notches. The 1st one is easier than the 2nd one. You can just enjoy the views from the top without even climbing any of those. The Manamana route is more like a real hike.

You do have to visit! Hawaii offers some amazing landscapes, never boring trails. Hawaii keeps your adventurous spirit up for sure.

People die on this hike. It’s illegal.

Yes, there were some people who made mistakes and unfortunately lost their life on this area. That happens everywhere around the world in the mountains. This is just how it is. People who love being outdoors and get themselves in challenging conditions, they have a risk what they take. The entrance from Crouching Lion side is closed, but there are other places you can access the ridge without being “illegal”.
