HIKING ROMANIA - An EPIC challenge: will we make it?

We attempt our TOUGHEST CHALLENGE to date as we hike the second-highest peak in Romania’s Ceahlău National Park - Vârful Toaca which sits at 1,904 meters high!
With 1,100 meters of elevation to climb over a distance of 9km each way, and a 500-step vertical staircase to reach the summit, this was one of the hardest hikes we’ve ever done. Stay tuned to see how we get on and to see the epic landscapes that this area of Romania has to offer.

Hi, we’re Helen and Tristan, from the UK and we currently live, work and travel full-time in our self built campervan. Those forests are actually unesco heritage sites and the national park is full of bears, idk what the lady was about… bears live in every mountainous part of Romania in every single national park.

We honestly think she was saying no so that we would not be too scared. You’re 100% right, after the hike we checked and although small, there’s a population of bears around this park!

Thats a proper hike yall :) Here's a little trick for the mountains , when you go uphill , especially steep ones ,its nice to have a steady branch or two (one in each hand) to use like an old man's cane to support the weight of the body using your arms too (kinda like ski in the summer) and you will find em on the side of the road in Romanian forrests.Thanks for visiting , hope you guys had a nice time !

wow wow wow, that looked like one heck of a hike. Amazing effort guys, them views at the top looked so worth it though!😍 We’d love to give this hike ago when we get over that way for sure, but make sure to bring lots of snacks & pack better than we usually do for any hike😅😂

Great job.Its not a easy hike...at 20 minutes from the stairs was the monestery and Dochia cabin where you could enjoy a good meal and a even more espectacular view kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abSUpdiqnpzYnaM.html
