Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed a KZfaq video as much as this, and I’ve enjoyed ALL your videos. We will take the trek to Peru and Machu Picchu soon but will for sure take the train both up and down. Your trips are so inspiring and adventurous - I enjoy them so much! In early January we’re going to Cozumel and we look forward to it. We’re in our late 60s and still are very active travelers! Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!

My mom and I did this trek with Salkantay Trekking and the extra 200 dollars is so worth it IMO. The campsites were so nice! The sky domes were my favorite. Their schedule is a little different the first day so we got the lake all to ourselves.

I went to Machu Pichu in 1998 before you had to book and it seemed a lot more relaxed I'd love to have done the trek you did though. What an experience. Brilliant vlog ❤

Came here to get some inspirations on my next trip to Thailand and still watching. Man Salkantay has changed, I ate sweat potatoes only, cooked in a undergound fire, staying at 4400 meters crossing the glacier, going up from the lake, which is not just a beautiful lagoon, it use to be where the highest priest of Machu Pichu cleansed themself and meditated. Up the galacier there was a Shrine holding high value relics and three golden eggs. So more uphill another 400 meters in altitude, I have never seen such a great sky at night ever again. Kinda sad on seeing how tourism has improved but wow I would love to meet you on my travels once, you are like the ideal backpacker to meet, cunning, smart, using maps instead of guides and just be you in full glory, big thumbs up for you girl!

I went to Peru and climbed Macchu Picchu in 2005 to raise money for age concern charity one of the best things I have ever done. We did the Inca trail something I will never forget.

I did this trek in 2016 to raise money for Make A Wish UK, and it was the best experience of my life so far ! I'm so glad you've chosen this trek, I feel that it's too overlooked by people when they go to Peru :/ Anyway congrats on finishing the trek !! :D

That’s awesome! See I think there has been a bit of a pivot! Almost every backpacker I met has done or is doing the Salkantay and I barely met any backpackers doing the Inca Trail!

I think the reason you got circuit 4 is because you chose Waynapicchu and that mountain is only available with circuit 4 (which is BS :/).. I am going in May and my arrival day I got the circuit 2 + Inca Bridge (Circuit 1&2 are the upper parts with the postcard picture sights) and my second day I bought a general ticket which lets you choose between circuit 1-4 but I'll probably choose 2 again (I bought it like this because If I have bad weather first day I'll have another chance.. I wanted circuit 2 and circuit 4 + Waynapicchu but Imagine having bad weather first day and then only be able to do the lower parts looking at the other tourists taking their postcard pictures... it sucks... I wish I had the option to choose Circuit 4 with my general ticket but add the Waynapicchu And for circuit 1 & 3 They are just shortened versions. (circuit 1 is shortened circuit 2) (circuit 3 is shortened circuit 4) and circuit 2 has almost the entire lower part of circuit 4 aswell... Again It's just a shame that I wont be able to do any mountains even though circuit 2 also passes the entrance to Waynapicchu..

I'm also going there in late May! Do you have any suggestions on how to get on circuit 1 or 2? Do you know if buying access to Montaña Machupicchu (instead of Waynapicchu) will help or hurt the chances of getting into circuits 1 or 2?

They seem to love their soups in South America , every tour you’ve been on has seemed to serve it. Not something I would have expected but i love me some soup so I’d certainly have no complaints Im so sorry the trek was so hectic, seems counterintuitive to even have a trail that does not reach the top of machu pichu. I followed this whole thing on insta and I remember thinking that was a bit of a scam 😂 hope all is well, love your vids so much ❤

Seems like things are pretty much back to normal now! No restrictions in Peru. The fact they still had this circuit system at Machu Picchu was very unusual, I haven’t experienced anything like that anywhere else in the countey

I'm going in two months and your videos have really helped me feel prepared. I'm doing an adventure track which includes downhill bikes, white water rafting and zip lines. No idea how much harder that's going to make it, or if its going to break up the walking and make it a little easier.

What an amazing and helpful video, thank you! Might be a silly question but where do you keep your main original backpack / luggage when doing this hike? Do you take it with you or have a main base in Cusco where you store it? Thanks!!! Hoping to do this trek next year :)

I stored mine in the Machu Picchu Reservations office, but you can store it in pretty much any hostel as well xx
