Lucas Hoffses technically the sousaphone is a beginner type a tuba and is also commonly used for marching. So it's a tuba, just not an original tuba. But there are also actual types of marching tubas which are more similar to an original tuba, so that is why you might think it is not a tuba, but technically, it is

Those two guys are impressive. I tried to play the trumpet in middle school and I could never get the hang of it. I quit after a few months and instead joined Percussion and stayed there to this day. Props to these two guys for daring to play this on the tuba.

Alexis Leeper is there really though? A sousaphone is basically just a tuba that you can march with. Yes, they are physically two different instruments, but they play in the same register and both serve as the lowest instrument of the band. Both tubas and sousaphones can also be Bb instruments and Eb instruments. Idk that much about tubas tho. I’m a sax player so please don’t roast me if I said something wrong and sounded like a know it all. Edit: my band instructor calls sousaphones tubas. Also, tubas are typically used in concert bands but replaced with sousaphones in marching bands because you cannot March with a tuba

Dr Kid, I mean, you COULD march with a Tuba, it's not impossible, but it would just be very physically straining since you would have to carry the Tuba with your arms rather than distribute the weight between your shoulders as you do with a Sousaphone.
