@Tobias Reiner So your answer is to go way, way, way back - to what, exactly? Just gathering food, no hunting, just living in the bushes? You haven't thought this through, or researched it, well enough. You're way off base... Agriculture is NOT the problem, it's that we've (in "Western" countries, like USA) allowed Big Ag to own most farmland, push nasty & unhealthy GMOs on us, push chemical fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides, weed killers, etc. on us, etc., and now we're dependent on all that anti-nature & unhealthiness to produce the "food" we consume. Agriculture & animal husbandry can work together to not only produce healthy crops & food animals, but also restore land that's been degraded. That WAS the way it used to be done, and that cycle is regaining popularity. We in the West haven't been forced to cut ourselves off from the "food" produced relatively easily and cheaply through the detrimental and chemical-dependent system we've let grow into place. Converting won't be easy, but it's necessary - not only for our health & survival, but also to disconnect from the Orwellian corporatocracy being developed.

and if we do, how long do you think it would take before we ruin it again? We cannot truly go back to that lifestyle that once because another will find away. But what say you?
