This works with the TE-1500AVR model, except that I used my TV remote control to reset the service light. The TE-1500AVR is almost exactly the same as the 1000AVR. My procedure was to Plug in the mains power, turn the operate button to ON (this makes the red service light come on), then turn button to off, then disconnect the mains power, and while it is off, flash the remote control into the service light lense (no need to disassemble the hilti covers) and just push the buttons on your remote randomly. Every time the hilti picks up the Infrared beam from the remote the service light LED will flash. The reason is that the capacitors in the AVR are still charged so the electronics will work for about 15 seconds after the mains power is disconnected. After about 4 or 5 flashes plug the mains power back in and the Hilti should start operating again. If the service light is still on while it is running, flash it with the remote once more and the service light should go off. I must admit though that I have had to mess with this procedure a few times, and it seems to work randomly with a combination of Mains Power (on/off), Operate button (on/off), flashing at the same time as connecting the power...... its just trial and error. I have also used a tiny keychain laser and while I could get the light to go off, I could not get the hilti to operate. I also used the laser on my temp tester and got the same result. The remote control worked best for me.

The TE 1000 have a working time of 200 hours, at 180 the revision light turns on and you have a limit of 20 hours to work until it is blocked, what is done in this video is to turn off the light to prevent it from lock, a locked hammer does not work with the red light on

From what I have read they are set to shut down after 200 or 250 hours. Could you imagine if car manufacturers turned your car off at 12k and only they had the means to start you back up.

i have same problem and i also tried solving it with a laser and it worked but as soon as you unplug it and turn it back on again the light comes back on again ................. Any one found a salutation.
