I came very close to buying this, but I got an email offering a bunch of new TEWs and, well you know me! I will buy a Hinderer one day, but you’ve probably talked me out of this one!

Another valid and great review there Al 👍🏼. I don’t have much of a leg to stand on with criticising because I have yet to own one, however looking at getting one I would not get this version at all. Like others and you have said the so many different types of hardware, the blade rub, the steel, the fees to and from the uk. It’s just not going to be worth it for something at that price point. It’s a shame as I’ve only seen and heard amazing things about Hinderer but somethings happened with this one. It’s a shame and I feel your pain. But thanks for letting me and others know 👊🏼. Sorry to hear about the troubles you have with it, but glad you’re enjoying it nonetheless. The vintage series just seems to have more quirks. My vintage Xm-24 is also close to rubbing and those wood scales do not like humidity in the least.

Sorry to hear you had so much grief with this knife. Mines is pretty much ok. Fit and finish isn't perfect. Such a good looking knife and that walnut smells so nice. Haven't found myself using it much though.

Love the the walnut and the overall look of the piece but it sort of looks like all the hardware was the odd bits and pieces left in the bottom of boxes they had to use up. The lack of uniformity just irks me. Those philips headed screws look absolutely honkin' Bit of a shame, I've seen the XM slippy's on various emails and its never done anything for me. This is the first one to actually grab my attention but doesn't warrant the £300+ price tag for me.

The spear point on the vintage isn’t the same as the slicer. They have a different tip and spine.

Picked one of these up second hand for an excellent price. Only thing wrong with it is that the two larger frame screws on the clip side are loosing their Ano (bronze). Would like to heat ano them again but not sure about getting them out? Any ideas? I enjoy your videos, very informative!

I've never appreciated the Hinderer aesthetic! I think the flipper tab on their locking models is one of the ugliest things on the market. But, aesthetics are subjective. 🤷 It's really not ok for a £300 knife to be impossible to disassemble. That's a lifetime "investment" you should be able to service it yourself. If I'm honest, I don't get why they cost what they do.
