Hearing this, Hanuman ji thought that a pinch of red vermilion increases the life of Lord Shri Ram, so if I wear it on my whole body, how much will the life of my Lord Ram increase. With this thought, he applied red vermilion all over his body. When Lord Ram saw him, he started smiling and said Hanuman, what have you done. Hanuman ji said,” Lord this is for your long life”. Lord Ram was very pleased to see such devotion of his and said that from today onwards whoever offers red vermilion to you, all his troubles will go away and my blessings will always remain on that devotee. That's why red color is very dear to Lord Hanuman. Thats why Red chola(cloth) is offered to Hanuman ji. You can offer Chola on Tuesday, Saturday or on the day of Hanuman Jayanti. After retiring from bath, wear red colored clothes and anoint the idol of Hanumanji with Gangajal. Now wipe the idol with a clean cloth. After that put jasmine oil in red vermilion and first offer it at the feet of Hanuman ji, then apply red vermilion from top to bottom. After this, worship by lighting silver bark, sacred thread and incense sticks etc. After this offer Dakshina by offering Boondi laddus, recite Hanuman Chalisa. Take a little vermilion from the feet of Hanuman ji and apply it on the forehead, it is believed that all troubles go away.

Mostly to our Indian Goddesses we offer red shawl, cloth , red chandan ( sandalwood ), red flowers etc .... Specifically on Navratri ( Hindu festival celebrated twoce a year ) but sometimes on normal occasions too . Red colour is symbol of energy and prosperity amd it is believed Goddess Durga showers her blessings more if the colour is red , even in our body the colour of our blood is red .
