Another Deftones banger for you guys! It seems like everyday more and more Deftones fans have been subscribing to the channel. I notice a lot more Deftones suggestions. Especially for 'Change'. We haven't heard much from these guys yet but from what we have heard. I already know these guys are going to be a big part of my musical journey on this channel! I can't wait to see what else they have to offer!
Here is my reaction to hearing Deftones - Change for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!!

deftones are from Sacto, CA (Sacramento) - Current lineup is the same as the one from this album minus Chi Cheng, their bassist who was in a car wreck and in a coma for several years before passing on April 13, 2013 at 42 years old. This lineup is the OG lineup minus their drummer, Abe Cunningham (not original to the band but been friends with the members of the band since before the band formed and often played shows with them due to instability at the drum position) and Frank Delgado, who is their DJ/Keyboard/Sound Design somewhat in-house producer who didn't officially join the band until right before the album this song is on was released. Their name is a throwback to 1950's American R&B and early Rock bands who often named themselves in a "noun+tones" format. Their influences include Can, Roxy Music, Siouxie and the Banshees, The Morrissey/The Smiths, RATT, Danzig, Sade, Depeche Mode, Bad Brains, Pubic Enemy, NWA, Faith No More and many others

Abe Cunningham is one of the founding members of the band, along with Chino and Steven, and has never left. It was Chi that joined the band 2 years after it was originally founded. After Chi's accident, it was their friend, Sergio Vega, that filled in for him. I believe that's who you're confusing with Abe.

I do love the deftones, but Chevelle is one of my favorite bands. They often get compared to each other. You should check out. “Forfeit” or “The red” are great starters “ Closure” is my favorite but more subdued for Chevelle. The whole wonder what’s next album is amazing.

Honestly, my man, you're going to really enjoy exploring Deftones. They have a lot of truly amazing songs. 'Change' is one of their most well known songs but trust me when I say they have a lot more that are that good, and some that are even better. They are a very, very good band.

I saw the Deftones the first time was the very first Van's Warp tour. It was incredible. The aquabats played just before which was Travus Barkers first band. Amazing show.

You know when you encounter something or someone that you are familiar with and your subconscious thoughts are saying in low whisper tones of speech is speaking about that individual or event.....this is how it sounds...very creepy but very real to you but if someone ekse could hear your thoughts it would sound like this!!! I love the Deftones....and this effect of his voice was done by the Beatles in Strawberry Fields Forever and by Led Zeppelin in "No Quarter." Very psychedelic haunting voice ...done with thin cloth over the mic. Great reaction!!! Seen them do this in concert in Sacramento, California.......where I am from and the members of The Deftones camp out!!!

Have you ever heard Spiritbox or Sleep Token? Those are two modern bands that take some inspiration from Deftones. “You’ve Seen the Butcher” its hard to put your finger on it but this song starts out sounding like it’s gong to slow down than picks up out of no where. It’s just awesome and you’ll know why after you hear it.
