"Long Way Back From Hell" is pretty bad, off Danzig II, always makes me drive way too fast I think my personal one is freaking "Pilot the Dune" by Slo-Burn, one of those bands that never made it, but headed by John Garcia of Kyuss: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z72lisijq9-of5c.html I think Garcia just does it for me for hard rock, because Unida's Coping with the Urban Coyote album is such a good driving album.

My 1st thought was EXACTLY this...that he sounds like Jim and Elvis. Then I come to the comments to see if anyone else felt this way..then BAM, I see this comment! Awesome!

Yes, Danzig Rules! Check out Danzig's first band The Misfits (Song: Hybrid Moments). The Misfits are one of the most influential Punk bands and have inspired Bands like Metallica and Type O Negative to newer bands like Code Orange and Motionless and White. These bands wouldn't be the same without the influence from The Misfits. There is also live footage of Danzig and Metallica covering Misfits songs. Stagedives and high fives! Also check out Death - Crystal Mountain Type O Negative - Love You To Death Code Orange - Bleeding In The Blur

I'm 47 years old. A lot of these metal songs you're digging on are the ones I grew up with. It's great to see a younger generation appreciate good music, played by people who can actually play instruments, rather than relying on drop D tuning, synth, and autotune.

The first time I heard Mother I had the same reaction you did. Its a great song. Danzig is known as the metal Elvis because of his voice. Last night I saw Operation Mindcrime (The split off band with the singer of Queensryche). Amazing show, they played the whole Operation Mindcrime album and most of the songs from. Their Empire album. Amazing operation mindcrime is 30 years old. My throat is raw and my ears are ringing...perfect night!

Danzig was also the singer for the punk band The Misfits, which was very influential for the vast majority of punk bands that came after. Check out "Where Eagles Dare" and "Last Caress"

The drumming in this song is really what sets it apart, the beat shifts really are amazing, since the lead guitar doesn't really change the main chord.

This is STILL called real music, Alex Hefner. NO synthesized microphone. NO computer tracks. NO dub step. ACTUAL INSTRUMENTS. I know its a weird concept to use, a guitar, bass and drums and have actual people playing them but, that is how it is done.

@sleggett243 6 жыл бұрын
YogDodoth what isn’t correct? Danzig was not with the misfits after 1983. Dig up her bones came out in 1997. Samhain was post misfits and pre Danzig.
@YogDodoth
@YogDodoth 6 жыл бұрын
that's exactly what i said, Misfit's wasn't Glenn Danzig´s previous band because Samhain was after Misfits, and before Danzig... Samhain is in the middle. That, just that.

This was so great to watch! Brought back incredible memories. My first time hearing Danzig was live, with Disturbed and Six Feet Under opening for them. The whole evening was incredible. Just incredible musicianship from start to finish, I think I was 14 or 15. I was blown away that night.

For the record Dig Up Her Bones is not preformed by the original Misfits with Danzig. Not saying its a bad song, it just shouldn't be confused with the original material. It's in a different ball park.

Tom Tanaka Hybrid Moments takes me back every time I hear it. I say he needs some old school Suicidal Tendencies as well. The Ramones, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, The Stooges, and even Blondie. There's so much good classic punk.

This song live was one of my favorite live music experiences. He was promoting his Lost Tracks album and Doyle's band Gorgeous Frankenstein was opening, a short Misfits set was the promised encore. The band was just on fire! Every song was kicking ass, the audience was seriously hot. When they get to this song Glenn just says "here's a song from Danzig 1." They play the opening riff and there is no crowd reaction. My initial thought is "what song has a riff similar to Mother?" When he gets to the opening line the whole audience sings along with him. No cheering, just singing along for the whole song. By the time the full band kicks the audience is getting louder. By the time they hit the first chorus I can't even hear the band! Afterwards Doyle comes out, they play the Misfits and the mosh pit explodes.
