The fact that yoongi used to want to be a b-boy and was soo passionate about getting into all 4 aspects of hiphop, he once told jhope he wanted to be a dancer instead because he was really inspired by the b-boy scene (mentioned in suchwita episode with jhope) , unfortunately his shoulder got injured and that held him back from really intense b-boy dancing.

I'm sure that what really pissed Suga off more is that so many people in the underground hip hop scene where coming to Suga to produce beats for them. And that's when he was a teen. I can't remember who it was off the top of my head but a rapper thanked Suga for his help because everything the rapper had submitted was rejected except for the song that Suga had produced for him. That's just one example of many. I found you late but I really love hearing your insight on hip hop culture. I've learned a lot from your videos and always love learning the history of music culture. Thank you for your videos.

If the captions say “auto-generated” then they are usually wrong and useless. You can always search for “English subs” after the title of the vid you wanna watch, and most likely some diligent ARMY has translated it. For example, “ if I ruled the world English subs.” Hope that helps uncle monq

I am enjoying revisiting all the songs with you. Out of these two I love We On the most. I love these boys for how genuine(that's the word I am going to use) their lyrics are. Also they are very good at giving off the emotion involved whether they are rapping or singing. Then when they perform something they take it up a notch.

15:00 to answer your question B-free is considered a clown even by "fellow" korean rappers, his career has literally gone nowhere and was going nowhere since before he even made those comments about BTS, and after that stunt he pulled, he went on to insult other respected and skilled rappers in the game and alienated himself, even more, someone made a whole video about his downfall actually, it wasn't supposed to be funny (and as a human being who knows how much it sucks when things don't work out, I felt a little bit bad for him) but I laughed my ARMY heart out.

I know I wouldn't have but you know what in the end I'm not really holding a grudge against B-free because ultimately I feel bad for him because that's the only way he knows/knew how to attract attention to himself.

I know this video is from over a year ago, but I really hope you see this comment. I've watched some of your BTS videos here and there, and I've always really enjoyed them. it's not common among ARMYs to find people who are really into hip-hop or know anything about it, so I enjoy watching reactors who know what they're talking about in that area. you're not the only one I've watched, but I've only seen *one* other reaction channel mention what you did here: that b-boying (and other kinds of hip-hop street dancing) is the purest form of hip-hop. as you know by this point in your life lol, j-hope is a hip-hop street dancer. Jimin spent some time learning hip-hop street dance techniques as well, but went on to become more of a jack-of-all-trades type of dancer who also explored classical genres; Hope, on the other hand, began in hip-hop and remains in hip-hop. and I mean old-school shit. he's done many livestreams featuring beautiful freestyling built on the schools of b-boying and boogaloo, the most recent of which was only a few weeks ago and included a freestyle to "I Got 5 On It" by Luniz as well as tracks by Biggie and The Fugees. I sincerely think you should check some of his dancing out; it's the real thing, and it's necessary in order to understand 1/3 of this group's rap lineup. I bring this up because I think BTS' own fandom unintentionally does the same disservice to Hope that the left-behind underground rappers did to RM and Suga: they assume he is "less hip-hop." in Hope's case, it's because he was mentored on how to rap by the other two and didn't have previous rap experience. if you look at most comments about the rap line's skills, fans will emphasize that RM and Suga "were underground rappers" and that Suga was producing for other rappers and that RM was discovered because of his rapping, etc etc. and that's all fine and great, I'm not trying to discredit either of them. but what is very rare to see is Hope's own younger years in the hip-hop community given the same amount of legitimacy. I think most fans see his dancing and his rapping as two entirely separate things, _despite the fact_ that j-hope himself mentions the opposite idea many times in his own bars. in fact, this sentiment spans his entire career. on "Hip-Hop Lover," from the album _Dark & Wild_ (2014), he says he learned about hip-hop by "feeling it with [his] body" - that before BTS, he could "only express [artists like Biggie, 2Pac, and Nas] with [his] body" but now he stands "in the intersection of rap and dance." four years later, in the song "Base Line" from his EP _Hope World_ (2018), he still says that his rap is "shaped well with the rhythm of [his] body." just like you said in your reaction to "Hip-Hop Lover," there is no shame in being mentored. none at all. it doesn't make you any less real. and the total disconnect in so many people's minds between street dance and rapping is sad to me. again, like you said: it's the elements of hip-hop. his boys mentored him in rap; he mentored them in dance. it's a community of knowledge, and that's how hip-hop is supposed to work. it just bugs me to death when people see him as the weak link in the trio when he spent a sickening number of hours on the grind... here's a cut of only the dance portions of his recent live stream that I mentioned. ~16 minutes. please enjoy, and perhaps let me know what you think if you do. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etGSjLGU39e0nqc.html

Thank you for explaining the hip hop culture with in-depth insight. It's about the culture of dedication and appreciation to the art forms - dance, rap, singing, etc. BTS is getting another high honor of cultural award in Korea today. Joon said this in the previous cultural award " The only thing I've wanted is the power of high culture...I believe that more than any existing physical power, culture is truly the strongest intangible type of power that breaks down all boundaries." Such wise words. And echoing everything you said in this video.

Another thing that I appreciate so much that you keep saying, is on regards of how hard and vicious the actual hip-hop culture is, and how clear you make it when you said that about even when IF YOU RAP, THAT DOES NOT MAKES YOU PART OF THE CULTURE. Like, man, I always remember the Drake thing. Drake is cool, he is good, but when he said: "there are no rules on this thing, but there are rules to this thing"...I was like: pffffftttttttttttt. Come on man, if you go so hard why do you always go on about backing off or "holding back"...no man, there's no rules on beef related issues, but now, IF YOU GO A CERTAIN WAY, YOU HAVE 2 OPTIONS: BE PREPARED TO ACTUALLY RESPOND IF SOMETHING HAPPENS or STFU (even the last option can be respected, even if some people say otherwise).I know that everybody has a weak spot, ok, that's a fact, but that's how you can go above and beyond if you know how to actually turn that situation around. Like, just see Eminem, we know that his daughters are his weak spot, but the man doesn't back off.

About the Warren G. and Koolio, they met them before, and even Nam worked with him (Warren G.) for his mixtape. Btw, in one of the lives that you did, there was one part in which there was this conversation about HOW MUCH the stage performances specially for rappers, and you mentioned a lot of interesting topics; such as not having a Hype Man, or the DJ actually enhancing the performance and so on. If possible, even if you don't record it, please, please, see this performance of them.
