Latinx is such a stupid term, makes me grinch 😑

Honestly, the more I learn about "Latino" culture, the more I realize it is just an identity of colonized people that have no identity but knowing Spanish and sharing a geographical region. The more I look, the more I notice that mestizo hispanics have this tendency of emphesizing their Spanishness, which doesn't amount to anything but language. Notice how these people went on and on on how they wanted to preserve " their language", and how they are proud immigrants of Spanish culture, but they never mention what they are proud of. I am a Cuban-American whose ancestors literally where born in Spain ( my father literally has a Spanish passport) and I don't care that my kids lose the "language" or the "Spanish way of life" because these are mutable traits. At the end of the day, nobody can deny them their Spanish roots ( and they can always learn Spanish or read Don Quijote).

I identify as American. Its where I am from not where my ancestors are from. I can care less about France Belgium and Germany I wasn't born there or live there.

So dumb, “Afro Latino” is such a dumb term only meant to divide the latinos of african ancestry from the other latinos... No one claims “Euro-Latino”, or “Mestizo Latino” etc... Latinos of African ancestry, you are as much latino as other latinos, no need to separate yourselves!

Majority of Latin America is mixed with native and Spaniard blood from 30 to 70 percent and other way around ,tribes are still around till this day with blood full if not almost ,just the minority obviously.....el pipil

I'm East Indian in origin born in South Florida. Naturally I come across a lot of Hispanics, I can say they are friendly and just cool people to hang around with. Much love to all the Hispanic brothers and sisters out there!

I'm East African with curly hair and lghter skin tone. In the US the only people that opened their arms for me are Latinos. I speak fluent Spanish and I have two beautiful daughters from my beautiful wife who is Colombian by origin. i identify myself as "brown" not black anymore. I am tired of explaining to Blacks that I'm black from Africa ...I love my Latino family

I hate to burst our bubbles, but Spain-Espania did not exist as a nation until 1492. The Romans called that conquered territory land "hispania" a name they got from the CANAAN-Phoenicia & Cartago peoples(asiatic invaders) named the Granada coast "Spania" for "rabbits" hahaha "conejos" in 1182bc? These same Cartagos took over from 800-200bc, then ROME got them out, 199-90bc, by WAR!

I am proud to be of Hispanic ethnicity. I am American, Hispanic. 3rd gen but most of all I am a child of God, like we all are and nobody but God can judge me or affect me by calling me otherwise. My ancestors all served in the army and came here legally from Spain and Mexico. I hope one day we can all be happy to be what we are and not label or judge others for where they come from.

Why do Latinos always have to explain themselves in this country. I don't. No one else should. And, as far as checking those boxes on every application known to man, it is no one's business except your own. I don't see are you Jewish, are you Polish, are you Italian, are you Sicilian on those check boxes selections. Why do we have to explain ourselves?

I have been told I sound 'Puerto Rican' or somewheres in that area. I am not. I was born in Santana California. We moved out in 1992 because of the LA riots, earthquakes, and lack of employment. My English is poor. I speak the way I was thought- through traveling the US and from going to school and meeting different races and Latinos.

Well, I am also a Latino from Central America, and I dorespect very much the United States, cause I use only my American VISA to visit that great country, and also speak only the English language in the US, but for me it's really ridiculous to see these American Latinos, saying that they feel more proud to be Latinos more than Americans, cause I can tell that when you heard them talk in Spanish, you can notice that we don't speak, think or behave like they do.
