Well, this brings a chuckle to me. I was just there last Sunday Nov 20th. I use to play soccer for Johnson State College in 1983-85. We played against Lyndon State College back then and I had not seen the college since 1985. So, while passing thru Lyndon on Sunday I thought I would take a drive up to Lyndon College to see how it had changed. It changed so much, I don't even remember the old college. Boy has it grown in size and a beautiful view over the town of Lyndonville!! I travel thru Lyndonville a half a dozen or more times a year on my way to Pittsburg, NH from CT. Love love driving Rt 114 into Canaan, VT and I always stop at April's Maple for some syrup and a bite....which I did this past Sunday for their maple pancakes while the snow squalls were coming thru.❤❤

Wow, right next to a cemetery! Nice looking High School building, track, football field, and baseball field. I like the flower someone made on the football field. Beautiful sunset! I liked the ending. Thanks for this Ken.

Alot of memories for you, Ken! Really, interesting of how the school was preserved over the last 170 plus years.I, m sure , there were probably renovations but still, alot of history! Hard to find that any more.Thanks!

First time I ever saw the roof of my old high school, I'm a little older then you but not by much, I graduated in 1969 thanks for the views.

It was amazing to see the initial view of your High School as it looks very similar to our current High School which is presently going through a renovation and addition. They are arguing over keeping the old building as a historic site or tear it down and our referendum is next week. My brother also threw the javelin and took second in the state trials back in the 60's. Thanks Kern, for the history of your high school and rekindling my memories of our past.

WoW Ken, there's so much I could say about this one buddy, whether it's historic or just the good ole days on that cold day it warms my heart that in these fast paced tech developing days we/I/you are able to reflect back on the simpler times. Remembering gym class we would have to climb the rope anchored into the ceiling practically two stories high and we had to at least try to climb it or get an "incomplete" for class that day, some guys including myself would shimmy up that rope all the way to the top and if you fell it would almost mean certain death. NOT heard of these days, gym class nowadays probably consists of "underwater basket weaving" or dress up, lol. No apologies necessary for the weather, I grew up in WV late 60's 70's and 80's I remember snow lol. Thanks for sharing Ken and God Bless you my friend. Jay 👍 👍

I heard this from the farm. A fellow was building a pedal powered car. He put big wheels on the back and then smaller wheels on the front of the car. That way, you are always going downhill so it is easier to pedal. . . . oh boy. 😊 Your story of the sloped football field reminded my of the farm story.

I am currently a Sophomore at Lyndon Institute It was nice to hear your story, the Pierce Wing Entrance went through a redesign so there is no larger space when we wait for lunch.
