I think I know of all nations and their locations with the exception of like 20 small countries in the Caribbean and Oceania. I still need to improve my city and region literacy, though.

Stalin is of Indigenous Georgian/Turkic heritage tbh. Gotta realize that.. And yes traditional maps are awesome..

Same here comrade. I was the same way in high school. Then I became an artistic angry Punk/goth kid that knew waaaaaay too much about historical things. And yes, most Americans are stupid 😑. Not all though. You've restored my faith in humanity..

I've met a man who claimed to be central Asian (unless he lied) and I asked him what part of central Asia was he from like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan etc. And he said why do Americans not know where any countries are and I told him because of lack of education and capitalism. He asked me something else I can't remember but I ended up saying I'm a communist and he said with sadness in his eye maybe Lenin was right. It felt like he was disappointed that a Mexican American like me was more educated than the average American.

Their lives depend heavily on that map. I wonder what the ones who made that map had to depend on.

Greetings from Lithuania! Maybe you have a couple of things from the Lithuanian SSR? It would be so cool to look at the history of Lithuania!

I feel so seen by the globe and map collecting. I love them so much as does my husband. I recently gifted him a cloth map of Korea from 1945 and he was probably the most excited I’ve ever seen him when opening a gift.

it's also a constant conflict between being soviet stylish and being godly enough to convert.

The last picture shows the dispatcher on duty at the machine-tractor station. Most likely, she is busy controlling the harvesting machines. In the window you can see the fields, and on the wall behind her hangs a table "Implementation of the plan of combine harvest <...> MTS." You can also find out that the woman's last name is Leonova.

I just listened to the Deprogram episode you were on and now I'm binging all your videos. the amount of knowledge you have of the USSR is so awesome, creators like you deserve way more views ❤❤❤ Can't wait to see more from you! (also I was considering buying a similar vintage map case from Poland, might actually do that now lol)
