9:10 the SS France was indeed a French liner it was basically a rebuild of the SS Normindie. The ship was eventually renamed to the SS Norway my grandmother even got a chance to sail aboard her buy the time she was renamed to the Norway . In 2003 there was a boiler explosion which unfortunately killed some crew members and severely injured some. (Rip) she was scarped in India from I believe 2005-2008. (Btw Rms Queen Elizabeth is my favorite ship I saw the post card:)

I think they were referring to the general slocum disaster, it actually took place in the east river near a park in a neighborhood that I’ve lived in my whole life. Very interesting story.

I’ve wondered for a while, Sam do you think had the City of New York and Titanic actually collided, that the damage would have been enough to cancel the voyage and the ship would have missed its encounter with the iceberg?
