Nova always held a special place in my heart. I was at the local library reading comics when I saw Richard Ryder become the last surviving nova corps member. It was my first time ever hearing of the nova corps and it was epic.

I love Nova as a character (Sam's my guy but Rich is cool too) and cannot wait for them to be introduced to the cinematic universe. On another note, I hope they bring out a new Nova comic series and hopefully one day, I will even get to draw that book too!!

Although the Nova Corps are Marvel’s mere image of DC’s Green Lantern Corps, Richard Rider is definitely an original character that Marvel has got to bring straight out of the comics into the MCU in the right direction

That’s the thing, I was felt like it was GL but there’s many differences to a degree where it’s not necessarily a copy but a faithful inspiration. I love it when both DC/Marvel are both faithful and respectful to other IPs besides their own. I hate it when they are not

Rich’s gravimetric powers are some of my favourite. Exerting incredible G-forces to immobilise enemies is so cool, almost like scarlet witch manipulating Vision’s density so he his crushed into and through the ground. So awesome 😩

Rider does not get his powers the way Alexander does. Rider actually has a direct connection to the Nova Force while Alexander gets his power through the helmet. Prior to the introduction of Alexander, none of the Crops had helmet-based powers. As far as how I feel about the character, Rider has been my favorite since he was first introduced (I was 10 years old at the time).

Many times when you guys do one of these videos and get to the powers/abilities part, you'll say super strength. Could you possibly include a class range? Spiderman strong? Colossus strong? Hulk, Blue Marvel or Hyperion strong? If not, it's all good. Just thought it might help those new to a character.

Im glad he evolved into more than a Hal Jordan ripoff. I cant wait to see Nova in the MCU. Im thinking they make a Special Presentation of Richard Rider as the OG Nova in the vein of Buck Rogers. Then Sam Alexander will be the present time Nova picking up after the destruction of Nova Corps by Thanos.

How come we didn't see the current status of the Nova Corps during the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 movie since it could have showed them on New Xandar creating the Nova helmets for members like Richard Rider and Sam Alexander? I've been an original NOVA fan-boy since the early 80s and knowing how close we have come to seeing the MCU version (in the first Guardians movie and then Infinity War/Endgame) only for the character to be pulled from the story is a real kick in the teeth. And to add insult-to-injury; the Disney+ project has now been officially cancelled with no firm expectation or guess when (or if) the character will EVER appear on the big or little screen. 😕
