Hit by small rogue wave while fishing for Redfish at Galveston. We were fishing in 3-4 ft of water for almost an hour in calm flat conditions, then out of nowhere several 3 ft waves came in and was pushing us in even shallower.

Any idea what cause those wave randomly like that?

We’re not sure since we had been fishing there for almost an hour in flat calm conditions. We were fishing in 4-5 ft of water and then after the wave pushed us forward and I turned the boat it showed 1.9 under the keel. It wasn’t a large wave but enough to have the boat surf forward about 50 ft.

It wasn’t a large wave but enough to have the boat surf forward about 50 ft. A shipping channel was a little over 5 miles away so maybe from there 🤷♂️
