sometimes having adhd means hyperfixating on the lore of the hitman series and watching 2 hour long videos of commentaryless playthroughs of all the games. thanks for this

Unpopular opinion: This is my favourite Hitman game. Silent Assassin was technically superior and had some great missions, but as a whole story, Codename 47 was just more gripping and scary. I also found it more challenging in a more enjoyable way. Some of the supposedly "improved" AI in later games actually just became more unrealistic and annoying, such as dressing as a Russian soldier and having other soldiers getting very easily suspicious, like, "Hmm... this guy isn't in the Russian army! Shoot him!" Like, even if someone did somehow realize you weren't a soldier, they'd arrest and question, not just instantly shoot you dead. Just didn't seem more "realistic" at all to me. I preferred the more ambient soundtrack, the atmosphere, the challenge and the plot much more in Codename 47.

It took me many years to figure out that in Hitman 2, "holstering" your AK by putting it in your left hand was how to stay anonymous around the soldiers. Carrying it in your shooting hand (like all the soldiers do) is perceived as an aggressive stance by the game and this is never explained and leads to being shot for seemingly no reason. Not my favorite aspect of 2, lol.

Codename 47 storyline makes no sense. 47 escapes the Asylum, but he doesn't recognize it when he comes back to it at the end of the game. Ort Mayer's plan was weird. How could he know 47 would join ICA after escaping the asylum? Did Ort Mayer want to kill 47 or capture him at the end of the game? C47 aged like milk. It's atrocious.

man played a rip of this game way back when gamespot gave it a low score then added to their front page about leaving your own review bc so many people dogged their critic review who complained about the game's difficultly lol a masterpiece & a massive leap in the stealth genre all it's own

I love inconsistent dialogue in games. In one mission, you have a Hong Kong hooker who does business exclusively with international clientele yet speaks in broken FOB English. And in the very next mission you have an illiterate Amazonian tribal chief who uses the word "expiate" in a sentence.
