I like the increased emphasis on guns. From Jon's other hitman videos, it always felt like a game with a lot of cool, decently simulated guns that you never want to use for a good score.

I cannot play this game, I find it way to stressful. But God damn I love when Jon plays it. Just too good

There's a poison mushroom that spawns in the grass somewhere between the house and the helipad. It can appear in 3 or 4 different places, but it's a free emetic you can always have. Distilling it turns it from emetic to lethal. Also don't forget to hold left shift (or whatever it is on your controller) to hold breath when sniping.

47 probably likes tomatoes because they're part of the nightshade family, so it makes sense that he'd want to grow them, even if the fruit isn't dangerous itself.

Just a correction, for alerted territories, targets see through your suit and guard disguises. Non-guard disguises is the way to go. Goes double for Showdowns, so you want to keep maps with easily obtainable, high access civilian disguises for showdowns. Examples would be Paris - Auction Staff, Dubai - Penthouse Staff, Dartmoor - Mansion Staff, Bangkok - Hotel Staff etc Edit - NM, covered later

I'd been avoiding hardcore mode because I'd thought that all of the optional objectives were mandatory. Knowing it's only the prestige objective that's mandatory is a little less daunting (but still enough for me to avoid it for a while longer 😅) Also, love that Jon also likes to dress 47 appropriately for the climate of the level. I was worried it was just me xD

The bell trick you tried on Sapienza does actually work if you let it play out. It gives you an easy shot on the chef, or the main target when playing campaign

There’s a radio in the kitchen that the chef will come over to turn on if you turn it off, giving you a perfect opportunity to grab him.

Freelancer reminds me of when I first started playing the old hitman games and had no idea how anything worked and I'd fumble my way through without knowing routines paths or how to use equipment. Love it not having the story missions, it's a great additional challenge

I feel like the lesson here is to stick with civilian disguises for showdowns, at least until you know who you're going after. The second lesson is to allow leave witnesses when things go wrong; if you'd just shot that witness after shooting the wrong suspect, you could have contained it (or at least bought yourself a little extra time)

42:05 Pro-tip: If a suspect notices you and you get SUSPICIOUS, you can run away and after they've stopped chasing, they'll settle down and not try to escape the map. So basically you didn't have to shoot the guy at 42:05... BUT... if the same thing happens when getting SUSPICIOUS from a Lookout, the associated network WILL all panic and attempt to escape the map.

1 very usefull thing i just found out yesterday is that u can create any of the 3 diffrent kinds of poison at your safehouse before going on the mission. Now u cant do this from the very start as it requires u to have unlocked the outside area aswell as the shed at the back of the house. Inside this shed there is a broken chemistry set just like the 1 in the greenhouse on the Dartmoor map. If u repair it u can use a mushroom that grows nearby to make a poison vial and that can be then be changed again into a syringe from the chemistry set inside the medical room. U can also fish up a fish from the dock and use it the same way. I cant remember exactly what makes what poison but with the fish and the mushroom u can create any of the 3 poison types depending on what u do with it. Also after making them u can store them among your freelancer tools rdy to be used for any future mission. With this discovery u always have a guranteed way to make a target or guard leave there route so u can get an easy drown kill, free disguise or just have them leave the area. EDIT: This could have been a single use bug but dont pick up the rusty nail outside the shed unless u know 100% your gonna bring it. It takes up 2 slots and i could not drop it again after picking it up.

Absolutely no disagreement here about how tough this is. I got through the standard Freelancer campaign on my second try, after a very early first attempt failure. I must have had at least a dozen goes at Hardcore mode since then and I've only once completed the first Showdown. It is *vicious*, and Jon's showing here was solid!

Next time try looking out the window from the top floor lounge. You can see the helipad from there and shoot your target as they try to exit via helicopter.

But when you started shooting in the penthouse you should have just continued shooting to kill the other suspect. By running away like a coward you created a distance that allowed him to just escape.

For the record, when everything went to shit, if jon shot the civilian, they wouldn't have ran out and alerted the guard, which would have gave him enough time to atleast hide those three and make a run for the prime suspect

I've figured that playing Haven Island in alerted mode seems bugged, because when/if you step onto the island where Tyson Williams is residented, the AI all of a sudden can see further and way more than the other places as well as they're immediatly sending a pack of 6 speedy guards directly at you.

I can't stop playing the game now, I hope they let us choose an option that allows us to keep multiples of weapons (besides freelancer items) I should be able to have like 50 trash bartiolis in some box I can grab when I want to be a little wreckless.

jons panic when the guy walked into the room >< once he killed him there was ways to actually recover but he continued to panic, rush out and escalate the problems further :P

fyi if you fail a mission without dying you can just exfiltrate via any available exit to not lose all that stuff you have on you. you can also leave at any point if you think that the mission is not possible for you to complete

Jon loves saying "Yes!" before stating something such as a behaviour of AI in game or an item spawn point, like "that uh.. Yes! I can get myself a wrench here"... just noticed it ALOT in this video haha

I wish agent 47 could actually run, maybe it causes people to take attention to you a lot more. But in situations where you just shot a few people and are being hunted, i think its a bit late for avoiding attention

On my final showdown of hardcore mode I was on Paris and forced to choose a silent assassin objective but no worries I thought I’ve done this mission suit only silent assassin before Que the most daring tranquilizer followed by chucking the guy over a railing you’ve ever seen, completed it though now the normal campaign feels hilariously easy

The mode is just weird... to be able to kill with no worries, but accidentally trespassing can immediately get you fired upon by multiple people. It's hard for me to just be ok with screwing up so I'vr just been abandoning campaigns and haven't finished one yet.

All ways use the ornamental sniper it’s the ghost but only 1 slot

Completing a hardcore campaign legitimately is an accomplishment I'm putting on my resumé.

Hitman Freelancer is fun when I'm really on my A-game, but it's just so punishing I feel like I can't play it when I'm at all tired or distracted or anything.

You can get the ornamental and ancestral weapons back in the campaign reward chests. I lost one and got it back that way.

the good thing to have a sniper you dont need to snipe an target from far away. go in grab someone in an empty room, kill him with the sniper, go out. end sorry but scouting half an hour wich point you can snipe the chef ist hilarious.

Love the format of World of Assassination, but it's so frustrating to lose it all so easily just couldn't be bothered anymore after 4 hours, Not to mention how much grinding it takes to unlock anything in the home....

I really hate the idea of loosing weapons if you fail I think it’d be better if you could pay mercer’s to retrieve/replace lost items

You could have easily salvaged the situation where the suspect walked into the room. After the headshot you should've knocked out the guy next to you first, after that just run to the guard and knock him down before he can shoot his loud weapon. I know panic is a mind killer but you can just go into inventory to pause the whole thing and think about what needs to happen next.

Can you mark multiple people as Prime Suspects? If yes, you should use that feature.
