This is why when I read Jon Favreau was in charge of The Mandalorian, I let out a huge sigh of relief. Because I knew it was in the hands of someone who cared.

I still remember when the film came out, and how everyone reacted to that legendary “I am Iron Man” reaction. People forget now, but the idea of a hero protecting his secret identity was so cliché that his outright acceptance of it at the end of the film served not only as a perfect and necessary final beat to his character arc, but also a hugely hype cliffhanger ending that subverted audience expectations.

When I saw Iron Man for the first time as a kid, Stane’s betrayal absolutely surprised me. I genuinely was worried that Tony might not be able to beat him with the weakened arc reactor. Plus you can’t go wrong with Jeff Bridges

yinsen is one of the most important characters in the MCU. without his efforts to help and save tony and be a friend to him, imagine how south things wouldve went the next 11 years

Yinsen's influence is basically what saved the universe. I loved Iron Man before the movie came out and I was really hoping they would make a good Iron Man movie that would make everyone else love him. They very much succeeded and then some.

Jon Favreau, the man who's been in everything from family guy, Rugrats, Seinfeld, friends, king of queens, Rudy, the sopranos, Batman forever, started the MCU, and now saving Star wars, is one of the most important people in Hollywood today.

"So you're a man who has everything... and nothing" I think this movie was about understanding what is important in life. You could have all the wealth and power in the world, but it means nothing if you lack a sense of responsibility and have nobody to share the truly important moments with.

I like how you put John Favreu before the title of the movie. He deserves that respect

I agree with HiTop, when he broke the glass showing his reflection, thats when he became iron man for me.

For me, the moment he becomes iron Man is when he stops to try and save Yinsen. He tries to convince him to get up by talking about his family and how it's going to be okay, only to see how Yinsen knew this was the plan all along. He watches as someone sacrifices themself just for him to live, and that's the mantra and the mindset Tony decides to carry with him until his death in Endgame.

Honestly my favorite part of Iron Man I is that the CGI completely holds up. Hell, the suits from Iron Man I, Iron Man II, and Avengers actually look more convincing and real than everything that comes after. They did a damn fine job making Iron Man convincing as both a character and a costume.

Alright, you're the first person I've seen agree with me that Ramin's score should've been used throughout the MCU as Iron Man's official theme. That's a subscription right there.

I remember seeing the first Iron Man movie and thinking, `Man, Robert Downey, Jr. Has gotten old. I hope he learns to enjoy this.` Now I see this and think how young RDJ looks. After Doolittle, I hope he learned to enjoy it while it was good.

I love Infinity War, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians Of The Galaxy films, but there's just a feel to these Phase One Marvel films that they haven't quite been able to recreate since.

Remember when they built full Iron Man suits for the movie before CGI became overused?

I tell you what, I've heard so many times how Iron Man was barely even a B-lister superhero in the comics. Yet every time I played the Avengers arcade game, he was my go-to.

Just love how such a simple film with beautiful story telling and VFX holds up to this day and started a multimillion decade franchise and it's still going

When Tony says to Yinsen "nice to meet you" he had actually met him before. In Iron Man 2 in the flashback to 1999 Yinsen meets him at a party/convention or whatever, but tony was too famous and cool to at the time.

"I shouldn't be alive... unless it was for a reason. I'm not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what I have to do. And I know in my heart that it's right. " This is one of the most underrated lines in MCU.

"Don't waste it. Don't waste your life." This line touched me, I was in a horrible car crash and these lines are words I live by, I'm still here as Iron Man was after his accident, I wasn't perfect... took a lot of things and people for granted but not anymore, I cherish everything and everyone and like Tony, I hope that in my final moments I can be surrounded by the people I love knowing that I didn't waste a moment of my second chance.

I remember when I first saw this movie. I was in 7th or 8th grade and I saw it in the theaters with my dad. It was so awesome. Kind of easy to forget what makes the movie great since it's been so long and there's been so many Marvel movies made since then. This really got me nostalgic and brought back alot of the feelings I had the first time I saw Iron Man.

We also gotta talk about how Robert Downey Jr went from drug abuser to being Iron Man, an a solid actor

Honestly, this movie changed my life. Not only did I fall in love with the character but it inspired me to create, it introduced me to AC/DC ( i was only 9). But most importantly it showed me that you can overcome the hardest moments and still find purpose in life.

Those scenes you love are some of my favorite scenes in all of the MCU movies, but the scene where Daredevil is yelling at Kingpin about how he’s going to go back to jail and that he has lost is my favorite scene in the MCU shows.

Even though sometimes I strongly agree or disagree with HiTop films, god dammit i will always love his videos. The editing is always on point and he sticks to the point and even if you hate the man you stick around the whole video just to see his poiint of view and if he can change/persuade yours.

I think the "infinity saga" was his long epic journey to becoming ironman. Throughout the movies he struggled with his identity. He was coming closer to being ironman with every challenge he faced. But I think the moment he truly finally became ironman was when he snapped Thanos and his army away in EndGame. You see ironman is his legacy and he sealed that legacy with his sacrifice.

My friend absolutely LOVES Iron Man. He's gonna enjoy this, and so shall i Edit: I love that line that Jon says near the end, that he didn't want this to be some superhero popcorn flick. For me, its avengers when he changes, he goes from tony stark, the man who was a selfish and playboy jerk to the man who takes responsibility for his actions, then in avengers, instead of letting someone else deal with the problem he didnt start, he becomes the hero that almost sacrifices everything in his life by carrying that nuke through the wormhole and almost not come back. Steve would not have really cared abiut tony living or not if he wasnt Howard's son, but after he carries the nuke, thats when Steve cares, when he is the one who smiles when he is still alive.

crazy when you think about it. They wanted to also do Black Panther, Shang Chi, and a few others during this phase of the initial Avengers films. With this said, I believe Samuel L Jackson being cast as Nick Fury is proof that they were going to do the Ultimate Alliance (Original Ultimate Alliance comic book Fury was a Black guy) and not just the Avengers but with how difficult it was especially since their licenses were everywhere. I think they did last minute changes and that's why it became the Avengers Initiative. I honestly wonder what would have happened if they had licenses to all of the characters and not just some of them.

Yo... Just seeing that scene again with Tony and I don’t know how to spell the name of that great guy he was trapped in the cave with. But when he asked Tony does he have a family? That hit me in the feels. Knowing that Tony Stark finally did have a family of his own. A wife and daughter 11 years later in Avengers: Endgame.😭

Rdj is honestly a spectacular actor. I seriously love him. Every time he's on screen, even when he's being drearier than normal, my eyes are still glued to the screen, because rdj makes this character so damn interesting. Thank you Robert, for 11 years with this character.

The part at 17:30 genuinely changed how I look at this movie. I always thought he was just messing around with an "I'm a badass" mentality, but seeing now that he was destroying his former self changed not only how I look at this scene but the movie as a whole. This is the most well thought out analysis of Iron Man. Well done!

I kinda miss this type of Marvel film. Lower stakes, more character development and the "boss battle" in the end is almost not even the core part of the story, its Tony's character development thats the most important thing.

As much as i love Ramin Djawadi's Iron Man theme and wish it was consistent, I feel like the iron man 3 theme by brian Tyler suits a more developed iron man and even more grown person with the more dramatic and more heroic brass choir and stuff

I adore this movie. It's a film that feels seamless and natural, due to these qualities always being present and strong regarding the dialogue and the pacing. It feels like the most perfectly told origin story - It gives the hero the necessary depth and character development, and spends an admirable amount of time on him developing his superheroics - I greatly cherish the time spent on Tony developing his armour, it's done in such an intimate way, with us being with him every step of the way in his workshop, as his creations evolve with Jarvis. The film smartly builds to the reveal of the Iron Man suit in its completion, as well as the suit being able to fly, so that its given awe-inspiring, dramatic effect and weight. The grounded, human touch always shines through in the film, and makes the film one that a person can easily get personally attached to. I LOVE Obadiah as well, he's so perfectly scheming, ruthless, and just plain bad as a standard, villainous business tycoon. Could there have been more to him? Yes, but I think that would actually take away from the movie. Part of this film's beauty is in its simplicity - The brisk pacing and dialogue make it feel wonderfully breezy, despite the fantastic, strong dose of heart. Making Obadiah more complicated would take away from that. It's lovely that this magnificent film was the starting point for the MCU, the series has come so far, but this film still stands out as one of the series' best. Excellent video Alex!

Every time I put these kind of long videos from HiTop Films in my watchlist, I'm usually not motivated to watch them but every time I start watching them I'm instantly hooked after watching the first minute and I end up watching the entire video.

Iron Man and The Dark Knight were the best movies that I've seen when I was 7 and they're still the best to this day.

In my opinion he became iron man when he stopped doing things for himself and instead put himself in-between the danger and the people he put in harms way. A memorable moment of this changing tide was when Yinsen said " Don't waste your life Stark " in that moment Tony knew he had a purpose. He got back home and immediately tried to bring a end to his madness and after realizing he's been double crossed he attempts to finish what he started and destroy all his weapons. His character drastically changes though the movie and everyone has opinions when he became iron man but this one is mine

Tony became Iron Man in this movie, when he was willing to sacrifice himself to end stain. He put his life on the line instead of worrying about himself. It's a amazing show of character development and makes the audience see that Tony is no longer the merchant of death, he is now and forever will be Iron Man

When he saved those people un Gulmira, IN THAT MOMENT I believe Tony has become 100% Iron Man, I f*cking LOVE this movie and I am so grateful that you made this. Such a great video ❤️

One of the reasons why I like the MCU (including Endgame) is Tony’s journey from a selfish man to a selfless man. Watching Iron Man and the rest of the MCU after it shows just how much care was put into his character and how much effort Robert Downey Jr. put into his performances. My biggest complaint is that I wish the MCU ended with Endgame.
