A lot happens in this video so it was really hard for me to create a title lol. In this video I ride up to Cerro Gordo Ghost Town and do my Reenlistment Ceremony. Afterwards we had a ride afterwards and I had one of the worst crashes of my life .
In this video I also test out a different sprocket setup for highway (14/39) .

Congrats on re-enlisting. Great video!! Working full time and still getting 10,000 miles on a dual sport in 1 year is impressive in my book!!

Suddenly I don't feel so bad about being a gear nerd as I pat the armor over my hips inside my pants. :) Just glad it wasn't a major break or head injury Use your signing bonus for boots and proper body armor/clothes.

Congratulations on your 5 year extension , got out of the Marine Corps after only 2 "interesting" years in '71 , hindsight is now telling me I should have played it more like you , good luck and God bless all Service Members , we'd be screwed without you. Just ordered a '23 KLX300 for my 74th Birthday .

Great video, I run 15/43 with my klx 300 that has a 331cc big bore kit, that gearing seems to be the happy medium for me and will still do the narly stuff and sit on 100kph over a long distance the extra torque from the big bore kit allows the bike to be more versatile!

I have set up my KLX300 with 13/43 sprockets and as you mentioned, the engine revs much higher when riding on the highway. However, I won't let myself ride faster than 60 mph, maybe 65 mph (rpm is around 7K). As such, the engine is vibrating. I really don't care. I have a 1985 Kawasaki GPz550, that I've owned since new, and it revs at 7K when riding at 70 mph. I think the KLX and the GPz with their teeny pistons can handle the revs. I love the 13/43 setup.

That was my buddy's 5th wheel I was staying in for a short time but I got a regular pull behind. I just had to tow the camper yesterday. The bikes are in the bed with the tailgate closed. Definitely would like to get a bigger truck for hauling stuff with a long bed in the future.

how far are your trails, thats alot of miles in 1 year for a bike like this (not an adv bike). Do you do alot of higway miles? how far would you ride on highway to get to good trails? Alos, do you run stock tire pressure on and offroad? If not what psi you run?
@dualdorks
@dualdorks 2 жыл бұрын
I never really mess with the psi of the tires . I just leave them around 25psi . I don't like running lower psi because there is a higher chance of a pinch flat hitting a rock or something. There are great trails here just right outside of town but I like riding up north to see some better scenery and the temperature is usually cooler . I do a lot of highway to get up north .
