Exactly what I did in 2000, got shanghaied from Donny to Walton with 5 weeks left.. there was more drugs in Walton than id ever seen in jail... Been clean and out of jail for over 20 years now so it's bullshit people don't change, lads just need to grab the opertunity when offered.

This is brilliant, was in moorland just before This, summer 92 and I recognise some old faces there, especially Frank, got on well with Frank during my stay, gutted to read in the comments he's dead!! I was 18 years old, 1st sentence, 1st jail, only went back 1 more time, my son being born saved me from a life of prison, pretty rough jail moorland, always has been, not for the faint hearted, spent the last couple of months of this sentence in Wetherby, what a holiday camp that was coming from moorland, I felt really sorry for some of the lads in there, bullies paradise, despise bullies but you just can't involve yourself.

I was in strangeways and the windows got kicked out usually because it was unbearable in the summer with hardly any air circulation. Also they would let you hang a sheet at the window to stop the sun belting in during summer. Then in the winter we would cut pieces of cardboard to fit in them. Some wings were worse than others for the sun.

Simple all wear same uniform and trainers. That will stop that bit of bullying, taking canteen,all have sam amount on this.rest can be saved in prison bank, no monies transferred to others or home.only way to get it is day you leave.

Was in moorlands 2012 i hated it screws was dogs i was only lad from midlands on my wing ended up punching a Sheffield lad up then got shipped next door to hmp lindholme which was a lot better Moorland aint to bad been in worse and lindholme was a holiday camp both quite rough jails though seen a lot of violence there!

I wonder what became of these lads. I know they are convicted criminals but in my experience only a small percentage of convicts have truly bad hearts. Most people end up in prison through bad decisions and the influences around them. Where I grew up we lived in fear of gangsters and the police offered no protection,, so it becomes attractive to also pursue that lifestyle, which is what most of us did. Acting like bad bastards but really we were scared kids who grew bigger with the years. And so the cycle goes on. Looking back on it now with wiser eyes, the best thing would be compulsory military service from the ages of 17 - 20. That's the right kind of respect to earn. And it produces in most cases well balanced, upstanding men with a solid work ethic and a mature attitude.

Fast forwards 30 years and it’s worse! I was brought up poor, just my Mum for a parent, on a council estate and I didn’t commit crime, steal, do drugs, or end up in prison, it’s no excuse!

Wrong. Crime is actually significantly lower than it was back then. As of 2023 it's at an all time low. 1991-1995 saw the highest levels of crime this country has ever seen. After that period it's gone down and down.

@@zeddeka That’s because of how the data is used and presented, people don’t report crime anymore compared to the 90s, I live in London and if your telling me crime in London is down since the 90s you’re living in Narnia. It’s absolutely rife, I’ve never seen it so bad, Machete wielding gangs everywhere, gun violence, stabbings literally every other day, bike gangs stealing motorcycles in the middle of the day, people shoplifting like they are just doing a weekly shop, I’ve lost count of the terror attacks, street robberies on every street, watch thefts, Romanian and Bulgarian gangs pick pocketing, stealing bags and laptops, people in the daytime with angle grinders cutting bike locks, even Ed Shearen said he hates London now as it’s to dangerous during an interview. Khan’s London is really bad and now Labour want to release 30,000 prisoners early!

From the age of 17 up until I was 31 I was in and out of jail the last time I was in was 2009 come out in 2010 and ain't looked back since having my kids changed me the best thing I ever did was become a dad that is know life for any one but a nonce thay are the only ones that should be in jail

Lindholme was absolutely rife for drugs/phones when I was there was on spurs brilliant jail! Was a dutty bird screw on my wing sucking mans off and bringing things in! Parcels coming over fence on daily basis! Can be a dangerous place at times see a few slashings and man got stabbed on my wing! 1 Leeds kid on my spur had a machete was mad seeing that! Mambulance is always in and out of place usually a few times a day! Couple of man died while I was there! RIP! that mamba shit has fucked jails up big time some of the states you see people in its shocking But keep ya head down dont get mixed up in the madness and it's ok I worked down kitchens done nearly 2 years there my time flew by

I went from Hatfield open aka moorlands open from Costa del Glen parba in xmas 2005 hated it got shipped out to moorlands a few months later cat a it was rough if you were a wanker but I got on with everyone had a right laugh or two I was in there till April 07 crazy thinking back the things you get upto as a young man
