HMT watch company should revive. We are working towards the Make In India initiative and shutting down HMT Limited should never be on the horizon. In fact we should be innovating more in this area.

hmt defines India, it has an absolute character of being an Indian watch. come-on people it's India's first ever produced watch, we should be proud of it. of course there are swiss made out there but hey this is India man it's about "desh ki dhadkan"...we as citizens of India highly opposed it's shut down and absolutely recommend on reviving it!

As said may be the watches made in the first few years may be trouble free but I personally had great difficulty with my father's watch. Later he started wearing citizen automatic . My father received service watch from the factory even that did not bring back our trust . I witnessed all this as a kid. When I grew up I collected few dozens of them to be frank each watch comes with a unique problem. I am personally upset and happy

HMT watches are available on their official website. Also, at HMT shop at HMT museum at Jalahalli Bangalore. Let's revive this historic brand of India.

Why continue to operate a business with poor sales and year after year revenue losses? Don't get me wrong, as I like HMT products, but things have to be sold at a price where there's money to be made. A lack of foresight killed this company, being too late to the quartz trend. And as much as everyone will be offended to hear it, we all know that Indians are the most cheap and kanjoos people who don't want to pay for quality. So thus, goodbye to HMT.
