As someone who did exactly as North suggested some years ago, I agree to just ask out the lady whose a friend. As long as one of you can host, just have everyone chip in for some terrain and a game mat or two and just play at home. MDF kits are super cheap and can get you some really amazing board coverage on a budget. Alternatively, look at starting a club. If you know the store is the only one nearby you can play at and they're pushing a fair amount of people out then there will be people in the same boat as you. The good thing about warhammer is compared to a lot of other hobbies it doesn't require a lot of space, look about for places where you can rent out rooms, a lot of the time these places will also supply basic furniture like tables.
