Funny thing about real ww2 Italy is that Mussolini knew very well that Italy couldn't do anything, thus he asked Hitler for absurd amounts of resources to "prepare" for the war Mussolini never wanted to join the war, he only planned to pretend to be useful And he also allied Hitler and tried keeping the alliance because he thought they'd win, so when Germany started losing Mussolini knew it was time to change sides Italy at its finest

IMO the best for having a very aggressive early game is Japan. Just join Axis, attack Netherlands and land on one of the DEI islands to annex in peace deal. Then do same with the UK. After that, France and the USA are sitting ducks in the early game, especially if you do the Superiority of the Will focua.

Just a thought - you might be able to reduce world tension to the point where Czechoslovakia can’t join the Allies by liberating a bunch of France’s colonies to reduce world tension. Haven’t tried this but figured it’d be a good theory to test.
