What I love is that Al was able transcendence and even Chamillion was utterly impressed and stated the only reason why he won his award was because Al brought it forward to people’s mind, so cred was put where cred was due. I love seeing rappers’ reactions to this, because not only is it like this, but he can also sing it live without assistance, they also put a tip to the “white & nerdy” guy lol.

There is so much in a Weird Al video that nobody can get all the references the first time, which is one measure of how much time and effort he puts into creating these videos. One example-the equation on the whiteboard isn't a random collection of stuff that looks like math. It's actually a derivation of Schrodinger's wave equation for describing how a sub-atomic particle moves in a three-dimensional field.

Klingon is an alien race usually antagonistic in the Star Trek TV series back in 1965-1969 or so, they were usually used as enemies, in Star Trek TNG, it was pretty much the same except they now had brow ridges and only one Klingon had joined Starfleet. The language they spoke was also called Klingon as well.

If you're going to go down a rabbit hole, Weird Al is an amazing one to go down. The man has been doing this since 1976, and has had the same band since the early '80s (Rubén, the keyboard player, is the "new guy" who joined in '91). If you think _this_ is him flowing, you'd be mistaken. If you want to hear him flow, listen to "Hardware Store." I've heard another KZfaqr who reacted to that video describe Al as being on "Eminem timing," and he wasn't wrong.

That guy waving his arms at the action figures like he was on "the Price is Right" was actor Seth Green (he played Dr. Evil's son Scott in the Austin Powers movies). "Klingon" is the language of Klingons. They're a fictional race in the Star Trek universe. Between phrases used in the shows and movies, and the enthusiasm of fans, they've created an actual working language. "Lord of the Rings" fans did the same things with the language of the Elves...but they had a lot more help from the guy that originally wrote the books.

Loved this! A bit of warning though; you just fell down a rabbit hole...and it is deeeeep. You need several months to properly explore the genius that is weird Al. He's benn doing this sort of thing since the late 70s. Not only has he done great parodies, his original songs are just as good. You have to do the classics like Fat, Eat it, Living with a Hernia, etc, his more recent parodies like Trapped in the Drive Thru and Couch Pitato, as well as his originals like CNR. And, to really appreciate his flow, you absolutely MUST do Hardware Store. Keep up the great reactions. Im excited to see more Weird All from you

You are COMPLETELY missing Seth Green (Robot Chicken, the Austin Powers movie series, voice of Chris Griffin on Family Guy) showing off the action figures! You also didn't recognize Donnie Osmond as the dancer behind Weird Al (Donnie was a member of the Morman family singing group The Osmonds in the 1960s, later formed a successful singing duo with his sister Marie Osmond; Donnie is a perfect representative of "White"). Javascript is a programming language, Klingon is the language spoken by the alien Klingon race in Star Trek. Weird Al has been doing this his entire adult life. He started in his late teens, in the college radio station (he had early entry to college), so he has many decades of recorded material. It started as just silly ("Another One Rides the Bus", etc), but when he got permission and help from Michael Jackson doing "Fat" ("Bad") and "Eat It ("Beat It") in the early 1980s, he was on his way to a career. As time has gone on, his lyrics have become increasingly sophisticated, his grasp of genres more sharp, his humor more insightful and clever. He always asks the original artist(s)'s permission, is sometimes ASKED by the artist to parody their work (Madonna for "Like A Surgeon" and James Brown for "Living With A Hernia"), and only one person ever refused Al's request to parody (Prince), and one other said no (a mixup in communication) but later was glad Al did the parody (Coolio for "Amish Paradise"). James Blunt's label said no, though James would have loved it; Lady GaGa's management said no, though she gave consent when she heard about the request later. In those instances, Weird Al made the parodies but only put them on KZfaq (no commercial return for Al, so no copyright infringement). You should see how proud and excited Lyn-Manuel Miranda is that Weird Al did a polka medley of Hamilton Songs (The Hamilton Polka)! A lot of reactors have made a point of marveling at Weird Al's bars and flow, completely apart from the music and funny. I think the best demonstration of this is the list of "all that stuff" he names in the song "Hardware Store", delivered all in one breath, no breaks.

Al's girlfriend who he gives a surge protector to is Judy Tenuta. Nobody notices her. "no commercial return for Al, so no copyright infringement" CI isn't dependent on commercial return. Parodies fall under Fair Use. Legally speaking he doesn't need permission. He just has a personal policy only to parody when he has permission.

Weird Al is a great rapper no cap. It sounds kinda sentenced and choppy but it’s because he annunciates his words through. It’s pretty incredible how great of a musician the dude is. He can legit do any genre of music, just as good as the original, and make it funny and creative. This man is terribly underrated.

Klingon is the language of a war-oriented (but also technologically advanced) race of the same name from the Star Trek franchise. In the nerd community, it's considered an extra stamp on your nerd card if you can speak a fictitious language. Klingon was the first fictitious language that was learned widespread. The language itself involves quite a bit of gutteral growling and barking of words.

I'm not a fan of Star Trek, but my mom is a Trekkie so I kinda grew up having some unwanted knowledge just purely due to exposure. Klingons are a race of aliens that have been around since the oriringal, and have their own language. It was initially made up but then someone started to break it down and it eventually became so goddamn popular that it's the most widely spoken fictional language with an entire institute dedicated to translation, development and teaching of Klingon.

He's got a pac man behind him because that's in the Ridin' Dirty video he's spoofing... he's imitating the original... for maximum enjoyment it's always a good idea to view the video he's spoofing before viewing Al's parody

"Couch Potato" is epic too in the rap department of Al's songs 😉

Love the fact he got a copy of Star Wars holiday special. I never saw that until last year! (Yes it was bad, and I understand why George Lucas tried to wipe all copies of it)

Weird Al released an original song last year, GERMS. It's him performing it live in concert. It's hilarious and his performance is off the charts.
