Gotta love the old 70s pop music man I'm only 22 and this type of music is all I've ever listened to. And wouldn't have it any other way. I thank god for having parents that grew up in the 60s and 70s. The magical songs of the 70s are slowly dieing out my generation and my generations children have to keep them alive

This song is heartbreaking. So sad, he never tells Alice how he felt, and now she's gone. Sally is still there and she has also waited 24 years, for him! It's just sad.

I do not know why, but when this song is played in a bar in Sweden, when he sings living 24 years next to Alice , we all chant back Alice, Alice, who the fuck is Alice 😀 It is a classic song.

Maybe it was the cover by Gompie - Alice, who the f*** is Alice? (Living next door to Alice)? Dutch band , released it in 1995. Btw, I recall this version too instead of the original.

I'm pretty sure she left. "I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't want to know." They even describe her riding away in a limosine. I doubt a 24+ year old would mistake a limosine for a hearse.
