All I know is that it is a little alarming that people think it is ok to assault someone over a joke. If there was a problem with the content of the joke, approach the person and tell them they crossed the line. It is possible the person who said the joke didn’t know the personal details as to why it was so offensive. Just straight up assaulting a person over speech is low and immature. We all get upset at things; however, how you handle yourself and the situation shows your character and maturity level. I cannot defend someone who would hit another because their feelings were hurt. That is just elementary school type behavior. If they continue to be a problem, handle it, but don’t hit someone because they hurt your feelings or you got in your emotions.

As per my opinion what Will smith did wrong was that he went to oscars even after knowing that dark humour is common there. Will should have controlled himself in that situation since he was the one to make decision to go to oscars. But what Chris did was also wrong since he joked about his Wife’s haircut and his wife is bald because she is suffering from ‘alopecia areata’. Joking about such things is not a good thing. If dark humour is very common in oscars then it doesn’t mean it is good. So in this both Will Smith and Chris Rock were wrong. Will is not the ONLY ONE to be blamed
