These make me too sad to watch. Memories of my mom and dad. They simply were the greatest generation. They didn’t know it and that’s what made them even greater. So many had courage, morals, faith, perseverance. Never quit no matter what. Not weak, hard working, never complaining, serving.... my heroes. Love them and miss them everyday.

If I were an actor I would rather have been one then than now. All the old actors seem to know each other well and be part of a huge social club. It seems a lot more fun then, and the actors seem nicer than actors now; not so opinionated and full of themselves; not scared to show themselves having an expensively enjoyable time and being part of an exclusive set. I am as common as muck, so would really go for that!

What wondrous times those had to have been. Why does time have to move along and not for the better but for the worse. In those days women were glamorous and the men were men. Oh I am am sure they had their goings on but at least they acted civilized in front of the public. What do we have today? Nothing but sleaze, porn, foul language, etc., It was so enjoyable watching people from back in the day. Hate to sound like a creature of doom and gloom but I guess out with the old and in with the new.

Amusing to see `Uncle` Walt taking around Ken Murray`s kids. Back in the Sixties a friend of mine from Berkeley had a grandfather who was casting director for Disney. To this day I don`t know if he was married to Disney`s sister or what the relationship was with Disney. But inasmuch as you didn`t hire other than relatives in the old days of Hollywood I suspect there was a link. Anyway, this friend wanted me to meet his grandfather was he had hopes to getting me into the movies. This did not transpire but we did get (as the girls did in this film) to go behind the scenes and to visit the soundstages. At the time they were filming `Zorro`, `Davy Crockett` and a few others and we rifled through the costumes and the propos for the whole afternoon. Even as I recall it today I recall it as a fantastic experience. I don`t know when Disneyland was conceived. I am talking now about 1964. I am not sure Disneyland was operative at the time. But the fun this fellow and I had surely gave `Uncle` Walt the idea or pushed him into pursuing with the idea and/or the product.
@christinegruenberg31207 жыл бұрын
Disneyland opened up in 1955. If you read about it, it was a hot day and at that time women wore their high heels and dresses everywhere and their heels sunk into the pavement or blacktop, whatever. Anyway, from what I read it was quite a day.
@sandrashevey82527 жыл бұрын
Probably did..but I don`t think it was a patch on what it is now...so my own sound stage experience with his nephew could have given him the idea to bump up the show. We were escorted by Hitchcock`s AD before he began working for Hitchcock: Hilton Green. Funny how things always seem to hook up..cosmically....

@@vickianderson8175 Frankly I am glad I did NOT marry into the family. I use the term `Uncle` Walt satirically. My biggest beef along with hit anal regressive caricatures of women and animals is his endorsement of Nazi filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl. But this was probably because of his overall distortions of Grimm`s fairy tales (making them lovely when they were and were supposed to be macabre) as well as the filthy neo-Nazi subtext which characterizes the films.
