Recently Andrew took out the stock 45T brushed motor from his big MC8 rig in the quest for more torque and especially more control downhill.
In its place went a Holmes Hobbies Revolver brushless outrunner motor, 1400kv rated. These odd motors - are famed for their torque which is great for pulling heavy trailers.
To control the motor it needed a brushless compatible esc, and that meant the Hobbywing 1080 gets replaced with the Castle Sidewinder 4. This has recently been uprated with better crawler control and so on.
The lights on the MC8 were also changed out, while it was bare, so the flashing reactive lights are out, and some std leds in their place.

After a good run out with the rig following this video I can report good strong performance, and not the level of noise some report. It is little louder than a brushed motor, but certainly an unusual pitch.
