Twenty-two Native American frybread makers, representing all twenty-two federally recognized tribes in Arizona, convene in Flagstaff to compete for the first ever, first annual, state of Arizona Frybread Championship! The film takes a larger then life turn as four contestants (Tatanka Means, Teresa Choyguha, Dey & Nite and Camille Nighthorse) battle their way to compete for the frybread title. This is the frybread competition unlike any other, and the movie you can almost taste!

Not since Thomas Builds-The-Fire told the story of Arlene's magic frybread in the brilliant movie Smoke Signals has anyone captured the true frybread culture until this film. I absolutely loved this! I'm a little sad it took me twelve years to find out about it.

I enjoyed that so much!! And even though I didn't see one black face (people of African heritage) in the entire movie, we were well represented in Buddy's music and I really appreciate that! We are all One. ONE LOVE!!

ok you may think that Rap is from the black ppl but truth be told it is from when blacks were here and we (Natives Americans) held our Pow Wows that we invited and raised Blacks in our communities. That is where they heard the Pow Wow songs... and asked what are they singing (?) just so happened that the words were "Bad Boys Bad Boys whatcha gonna do. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you....." and we all know the rest. So Rap was born....the group is called 'Inner Circle' in honor of the ppl who gave them the inspiration. 🥁

So far I have watched the first 10 minutes and have chuckled continuously from the opening scene. Because I am an old Jewish guy from Connecticut (Pequot) I wasn't aware of Native American humor, but this film is spot on and I can't wait to watch the rest tomorrow since it is past my bedtime.

I live in Australia and to be honest I have never heard of frybread. I have had Indian bread from India which is fried but that is it, I fry nothing these days but am curious to what the Frybread tastes like. Interesting to what the competition between all bread makers. I found it interesting to note that some are very arrogant. Right on! Except Tawna Sanchez, who makes Killer Tacos at Delta Park Pow, thinks she would have won. Also, Caroline Cruz at Warm Springs (we call her The Boss) claims to be best. My money, however is on my home girl at Fort Belknap, Tracy King, the Zortman canyon princess!

Going be a frybread riot. Pretty good movie. Eaten frybread and yes it's good. Even if it's not the healthiest. Theirs a reason why obesity and diabetes is high a among them. Cooking with lard even if taste good, isn't the healthiest choice
