When I was in high school I had 2 pet rats. I would have to say they are some of the most clever and lovable critters. You can actually train them to do very basic tricks. They get a bad reputation but in reality they are fun and lovable! They're like a pocket sized dog or kitty. Love these vlogs! They're so cozy to watch! :)

That Garfield cat was cute! But I am not sure how Lucy would react. You can try burning those Citronella candles in the backyard/patio for mosquitoes. You can also try wearing those Citronella Bugables Wristbands (like the elastic coiled hair ties). I bought a lot of those and I believe they help. I wear around my wrists and ankles. I hate mosquitoes and every year they find a way into the house. So irritating when you have one flying around your head! You could also have a professional pest control company spray the backyard.

The birds you showed are budgies, native to Australia (where I live) and they are a really awesome pet. You can teach them how to talk as well.
