I'm at work and I never check KZfaq from there. But the title said Holy Mother and I had too! 😊. Thanks for all your hard work, Mike. I'll try to tell others about your channel. Yes, please, please keep it going. I don't think there's anyone else who dissects Clapton the way you do!! Thanks again!

@@mikebrookfield For the same song, the version that Clapton plays in Birmingham, 1986 (VMd_rrWTxjE) - he just sits on the first note of the solo forever. Is there anyway to sustain a note like that with home equipment? Thanks Mike.

Yes, Mike, please keep it coming! The Clapton love is so important to players and people who just dig his music. You've spoiled us already over the years with so much fantastic content! I saw EC three times at the RAH during the 24 Nights concerts and they had a huge impact on me. I've always felt he entered a golden period in the 90s -- a real renaissance in his playing.

Yep definitely keep em coming. I find your take on the solo here refreshing to my mind and it gives me my own ideas to make it my own, Thank you so much. You're right Clapton is at the top of his game here. I'm going to see him this May and so hope he plays this one. Thank You

Well done Mike, it was really nice to see someone lecturing EC's great performances at the RAH, you totally nailed it. Can you give a lesson on the Old Love Orchestral Version solos? They are completely mind-blowing and emotional.

Yes. Keep them going. Maybe other artist if you want channel growth (maybe. I'm no expert). But I'm perfectly happy with it just being Eric Clapton 😂

Such a heartfelt and lyrical solo, which also illustrates how important the first note can be! Interesting point about Prince and “Purple Rain” - Eric wrote “Holy Mother” after seeing the film. Your Clapton solo breakdowns are absolutely brilliant, Mike - you keep making them and I’ll keep watching them and commenting - I think that helps the algorithm. Hopefully your channel will grow with more KZfaq recommendations - it deserves to! 👍

@@mikebrookfield If I remember correctly, Clapton was on tour in Canada and in a dark place deeply saddened by the loss of his dear friend, The Band’s Richard Manuel. He watched the film at a cinema, went back to his hotel room with numerous cans of beer and wrote the song.

Never realized how the B blues scaled sounded so rich and chimey with big bends at E21 and vibrato at E19. All those licks at B12 and beyond just sing. And I notice you're on the bridge pickup. It all flows together, thanks for playing it slow as well.

Clearly you’re an accomplish player!! I prefer the original song and arrangement so if you ever want to break down that arrangement for us poor guitar players, I would greatly appreciate it!! 😅 Saw him and Phill Collins at the Forum in L.A. back in ‘86 Phill was playing the drums and our tickets were behind the stage! Best concert ever 🙌🏻
