Holyhead port and harbour are two of the most unexpectedly beautiful places on the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn). It's a port that saw its opening in 1880, with the breakwater being finished in 1873.
The port is currently managed by Stena Line, and has a wealth of history, as well as an immense amount of scenery and wildlife. It's not uncommon here to see dolphins, porpoises and seals, among the many sea birds in the area.
The ferry port here is most often attended by Irish Ferries and Stena Line Ferries, arriving from Dublin, Ireland. It also plays host to search and rescue training (as can be seen on our other channel - linked below), fish docks, the RNLI's lifeboat, Holyhead Sailing Club and many pleasure craft. There are also a number of other facilities, building and refitting vessels
This may be the first in a range of videos we film here, simply because it is so vast. It's one of our favourite places, and we spend a lot of time filming here for our sister channel - North Wales Boats and Planes.

In this video, unusually, you cannot readily see me, Cerys or my car. In almost all my other videos so far, that has been possible. We are there though.
This is perfect for stock footage of Anglesey and Wales, taken at the Holyhead Port on Ynys Môn / Isle of Anglesey. If you're interested in using the original footage, please contact me through my website - www.emmachantelle.com
