I would like to see a video on what Buzzfeed as a company is doing to reduce waste. It's great to see that so many employees are passionate about this issue - but what is the company itself doing to support this within the work environment?

I love this 90/10% approach. It would really help with eco anxiety. I like to reduce my waste whenever possible and may adopt that same thought. Also 1. I want a worm compost now 2. Part of your 10% plastic could be reusing a ziplock (like that one from the nutritional yeast) and put broth-like veggie scraps in the freezer in that bag to make veggie broth for every week or couple of weeks!

@TheSnowReport28
@TheSnowReport28 4 жыл бұрын
Jess Tschirhart I know it’s not ideal for everyone but it’s pretty easy to make your own. I got a yogurt warming maker (came with the jars) or you can use an instant pot that has a yogurt button and then just get a Greek yogurt strainer et voila! Greek yogurt!
@recoil53
@recoil53 4 жыл бұрын
You don't need an Instant pot or yogurt maker to make your own yogurt. People use coolers - which are merely insulated containers - to make yogurt. I use my oven as a hot box to do the same. Really easy to make your own, I do it in glass containers. You can strain or use powdered skim milk in your recipe to get a thick yogurt.

I just want to let people know since most do not. that if you take plastic wash and flush it down the tollit ground up as small as you can if possible. that most of it will degrade and break down in the sewer from the gasses and acids and so on is the sewer and buy the time it reaches the plant for treatmint. then it will have ben broken down evuff to pass threw filters or most of it and the treatment will break them small parts down more thus making it in the treated left stuff that goes for compost. this will couse way less wast out of the plastic then in the trach and help it break down faster most of it breaking down in less then a few days. I know this from people I know that work for the city water works department.

Just do what is possible for you :) I go for LESS waste rather than ZERO waste. There are things I'm not gonna compromize while having a tiny budget (like health) also I don't live by the farmer's market. Even little changes are important.

Anna Kożdoń yeah I have done some things like buying drinks in recyclable cartons, actually recycling lol, using reusable shopping bags, not buying single use plastic‘s I purchased a Brita filter (and actually got my friend to buy one too), don’t drink dairy milk, and I have eco friendly dish soap lol 🙇🏾‍♀️ but that’s about it I want to do more though you know.

@@iandowall153 Tin cans are Tin cans, Steel is not used for food packaging because it is too expensive. But thank you, all im saying is that these videos are great but you have to disclose all the information. Not what is made out of what waste is waste, recyclables are recyclables and everything has to be shown or its not an accurate depiction of the "non waste" movement.
