I heard Rob talk about after Austin wrote this (finished it really with Jeffrey East after he stalled and never finished it) but it was really hard for Austin. The first time he sang it Rob said Austin barely could get through it. Austin has said it always brings out something inside him, which we all do that years later after major loves and breakups. This was something that Austin did as others aid that he says helped him heal some from parents' divorce and breakup with Olena and all.So happy he has found love and has done a lot of work in therapy etc., (per him) to get to a really good place in his life. I love Lonely Girls. It says women (and men as well) can feel very lonely while in a relationship. Sometimes it's easier to be alone than feel so lonely with someone else. Sad, but true. I love how powerful that song really is though when you watch the video. Take care my friend.

This and Lonely Girl's World were both inspired by Austin's breakup with Olena. This one he's looking back and recognizing despite the pain that the relationship had been good for him and had helped him get over some of the bad lessons on love he'd gotten from his parents' divorce. Lonely Girl's World is Austin acknowledging that you have to put in the work rather than taking a relationship for granted. I'll note after their breakup Austin and Olena still had to work together as she is (or was) HF's stylist. Matter of fact, she did all the hair and makeup for the field portion of this video.

The ending shot is what happens to us in real life. You bump into each other after the break up. It's a shock (you could see his startle), awkward and painful. There's no going back, it's over, so that's why they don't approach each other. That's my take on that shot.

I saw him perform this back in January 2020. The pain and intensity with which he sang it was palpable. I saw a recording of him performing it this week and he was much more relaxed. More time has passed and he has a new love in his life. It's still wonderful, but it's different.

This was written by Austin after he had broken up with one of his ladies. Austin is such a GREAT writer. Love this, even though it's a bit sad

They sang this live last night. It was awesome!!! Austin wrote this after a breakup of a 5 year relationship

What I took from it the end is that they had broken up and randomly ran into each other. It is a beautiful song. Austin us a dynamic songwriter.

I took it to mean that she had come there to reminisce, as he was doing, and that it was a chance meeting. Their expressions said they both knew it was over, that nothing would come of the meeting.

This is a beautiful song. There is a live performance where he forgets a few lyrics....of course Tim reminds him he wrote it.

I think that last shot was just to show that we all look back and might even physically go back to a place that triggers memories. And possibly be there at the same time.

I didn't read all the comments but I most said it was about his relationship with Olena ending but I didn't see any that said that the parts about what his parents taught him was about his parents divorcing when he was young (what his parents taught him). It's a sad song, I'm glad he's so happy now.

This mirrors his relationship with someone before Amberly and he had not yet met Amberly. To be faithful to his life in the video, he did not get back with her, but thought of her standing there.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I've been listening to music since the fifties. Should have been a #1 hit nationwide, IMO.

I believe he was at the beach reminiscing about their past 5-year romance and when they were there at the beach together, maybe that was their spot, or where they had met, maybe she lived there and she had come to that same spot to remember as well when they ran into each other unexpectedly at the end.

This is one of my favorites of Home Free’s originals- both the song and the video. I knew the first time I heard it, that it was telling the story of Austin and Olena, and had to cry. I’m not sure about the meaning of the ending, but I think it has to do with how we all look back on relationships and wonder what could’ve been done differently and if we could ever get back to the good times. For Austin and Olena, and with most broken relationships, it was time to move on. I actually liked the ending of the video because of the element of surprise and uncertainty that it gave. I’m so glad that Austin and Amberly found each other. They make a perfect couple and team.

I wouldn't worry too much about the end of the video. At the time this was filmed, Austin had unresolved feelings and was in a lot of pain. He spoke openly about how painful it was to sing this song on tour, so I think the ending of the video reflects his unresolved feelings and pain. Funny thing is that she was working on set for part of the filming of this video.

Original song written by Austin and friends Steven Martinez & Jeffrey East. It's based on the ending of a 5 year relationship. The emotions in Austin's voice are real heart felt feelings. Amberly has claimed his love and they truly belong together. She will verbally tell you that she will protect her man. They are truly a fun, loving couple with so many things in common.

Yeah, the ending, pretty simple. He's standing on the beach where they once spent time together. He's thinking back to the time they were together and regretting letting her go. He turns around, and she's there, standing, looking at him...and there's the hope that perhaps they might rekindle what they once had and have a second chance.

My take on the final shot is that he was still having wishful thinking to see her again when she suddenly appeared, but immediately regretted his wish since the relationship was permanently over. Does that make sense?

He wrote this after his breakup with Olena, whom he was engaged to. They had been together for 5 years. The ending made me think they had met accidentally, he appeared to me to have a shocked expression on his face. Like what do I do now, coming face to face with someone you just broke up with.

No, unfortunately, they did not get back together. Austin wrote it about the breakup of his former girlfriend of 5 years. . He’s with Amberly now. I love this song. It’s so good and I love Rob’s parts. Tim is in the background singing “you love me” in the tenor range.
@carinalindberg7377
@carinalindberg7377 2 жыл бұрын
Just curious why you said unfortunately when all parts are very clearly happier and more content with life and relationships now than they were then? Unfortunately suggests it would have been more fortunate is they got back together than that they didn't, and that's not reflecting any truths for the people involved.
@babyfry4775

@@carinalindberg7377 I took the song to mean he was sad about the breakup hence I used the word unfortunate. He said his parents said no one would love him like that (the way he wanted?) and she did so that’s why I thought he had misgivings. That was my take anyway.
