I grow my own tobacco too and here is a pro tip I want to share that not many people are aware of If you don't mind the taste of fire cured tobacco and you want to fully cure your tobacco in just 3 days here is what you do. allow your tobacco leaf's to become completely yellow on the plant before harvesting them. Then get a digital masterbuilt smoker and put the tobacco leaf's in the masterbuilt smoker and set the temperature at 180 degrees fahrenheit. Then continue to smoke them in the masterbuilt smoker at that temperature for 3 full days and at the end of the 3rd day they should be fully cured and ready for fermentation I hope this helps some people.

180°F = 82°C, that's pasteurisation temperature. So basically you're saying you can cure tobacco fast by keeping it at 82°C for 3 days?

I stripped insulation off some small gauge copper wire, tied one end up and pierce the loose end through the thick part of the central vein of each leaf until I've got all my leaves strung (wired?). And it's on my back porch where it gets to 110+ some afternoons. Makes good bright virginia.

This year I left the leaves on the plant to dry. I did try to hang and dry, and that is fine. I want to try the whole "Dry Natural" thing this year. Greetings from South Africa

Does this method work well? Any links to doing it that way? Is there any specific name for this method other than the "Dry Natural' thing? (I can't find anything under that name of doing it). Thanks.

Great stuff 👌 I think the faster you dry the more sugar you keep in the leaf, so fast is the way to go 👊🙂

Hmm air dried some early leaves off my plant. I waited until they were brown to take them down and they were perhaps too dry as they were falling apart in my hands as I tried to remove the stems.. How did you keep them so leathery the whole time? Just the bag?

I’m interested in drying the leafs whole like Fronto to roll cigars
@smokinpipechannel96023 жыл бұрын
Your can do that, don't dry them too much. If you do, you can rehydrate them, I do that in one of my videos.

But there is no casing? I saw ariege Piper he was spray lots of thing and a solution to let the smoke mild. Your turn up mild without casing?
@smokinpipechannel96022 жыл бұрын
It's mild because it's been aged. Give it 8-10 months after colour curing and all the ammonia is gone 🔥🔥🔥

De-stemming is such a PIA ... but obviously necessary ;-) 👍

Is it not advised to remove the green center stem, first, while drying the leaves? Does doing so take away from the flavor or quality of the final product? Thanks. @@smokinpipechannel9602
