I wonder what the length of the moded telescoping antenna is? That would be an important determining factor of performance on transmit! You might have got lucky with a resonant length.

Good idea- curious what the SWR, gain readings and range on 2m/70cm you're getting?

Hello and thank you for your comment.... There is allways the possibility to messure SWR for every length of your tellescopic anntena using a swr-power meter like those i present in my videos, but i strongly recomment to use a signal strength meter instead its more easer and practical becouse it is not envoling cables and grounds.... Conserning the ranges the more signal the more renge....

the hight of the antenna has to do only with the friquency you transmit or you recieve. The lower the antenna the higher the frequency and vice versa. So you adjust the hight according the frequency. Hight of antenna λ = 300.000 / frequency in Hz. Αnd also you can have λ/2 , λ/4 , λ5/8

How about reception with this antenna on your Baofeng UV 5 R sir ? I try to make antenna like this on my baofeng UV-5R, but I have bad reception.

@@nikosalexakis3494 I using frequence 141.000 - 143.000 VHF. I make a whip antenna 53,5 cm with telescopic antenna ( without loading coil ) on my baofeng UV-5R, but I got bad to receive

a good way to adjust the antenna is to use a simple signal strength meter the more you transmit the more you receive

Okay, with no loading coil, that extra BNC connector, and no measurement for the telescoping aspect, that antenna cannot perform very well. Have you done any actual measurements - SWR, impedance, comparative signal strength, and similar? I doubt any of those would be within an acceptable range.

Hello and thank you for your comment.... you are welcome to prove your assumption and please let me now your results. However i have perform strenght signal mesurements with very good results. An swr mesurments requires additional ground that you have to provide.....

@@nikosalexakis3494 .. I think the absence of any real test data has already proven my assumption. Your antenna defies the known rules of antenna design. If it works for you, fine. If it actually works well, the industry will have to change those long-standing rules. Take care.

You said the telescopic is 8 centimetres am I correct? How many inches that 8 cm? But what I see the antenna is long

you adjust the lenght of the antenna to have λ/2 or λ/4 according to your tx or rx freq. For baofeng 5uv 90 cm telescopic in total is more than you need

hey you can not increase the power of an antenna but you can increace your radio power with a good tuned antenna.....
