Great step by step instruction! Really enjoyed your video! I am starting a fire pit/heater made out of a hot water tank. Your instruction is very helpful, thank you! Fun to watch too! Almost has that "Forged in Fire" tv show feel. Bless you and yours, Agapeperion.

A well thought out fire place/cooker, a touch of conductive criticism. Maybe grind down your internal wedge for your door catch until it holds the door nicely with the handle sitting vertical. Nice job 👍

Nice video man. One thing I don't understand about about a lot of these type of stoves is why anyone in their right mind would make a vertical one instead of horizontal? You can hardly fit any wood in it if it's vertical like that. I mean, I guess I can see if it's for decoration or something, but as a practical woodstove, it seems like you would want them to be horizontal.
@Njennings42
@Njennings42 6 жыл бұрын
Okay, now that I have watched the rest of the video i see that this is more like a fireplace setting type of thing. I thought it was a woodstove, because I can't read. Again, good video man, really appreciate it. Well done.

I built one similiar. now I'm going to do it all over because yours is way better. But how about cutting groves in the top so you can remove the stack and use as a pot warmer. I'd also like to see a temperature gauge. You could also remove the screen and add a sold plate (adapter). But I love it.

Nice cooker. And you're one of the few who know how to paint with spray cans or gun: going past the work, letting off, starting again outside the work. And it can convert to a heating stove by putting 6 bolts and washers along the door window. Then slide a 14 ga. piece over the opening and tighten the 6 bolts. A gasket can be set between the door and plate to make it a bit more sealed. You thought I was gonna say air tight, didn't ya?

I've just made one last week and it works a treat. Mine is rougher than Kevin's and doesn't look as nice but the tube below the door is a great idea as it really helps to let the air in. I'm only using it to burn odd bits of timber and twenty-year-old confidential paperwork - much better than a shredder.

Would like to see a second door on the back with a similar grate as the grill as a burn grate and a place to clean out the stove. This second door and grate should be just above the bottom air feed. As it is now you would have to dump it out or shop-vac out the crud and ash.
