I like the look of these lamps, but I’d really like an adjustable head. Could you potentially use Jomrbridge or Shortcuts to get access to the colors?

Yea, would have been nice to have the adjustable shade. Yes, you can definitely set up shortcuts to change the colors or effects (still no homekit control thought). There are some yeelight homebridge plugins but I haven't had a chance to try them out to see if that would give me color control in homekit.

Good review Shane. I would stick with their bulb too in a normal floor lamp and have them color sync with everything else in HK.

Interesting lamp. Love the design but major bummer that color isn’t supported in HomeKit and it’s concerning how wobbly it is for how expensive it is. Great video explaining the pros and cons!

Looks cool but would prefer a good looking lamp and a smart bulb in order to be able to use all functions with HomeKit.

Made that change a while back. I found that "affordable" is a relative term. What's affordable to one person...not so much to another. No one ever seems to agree on what is considered "affordable." I still try to find easy, diy solutions for homekit that don't break the bank.

I got the desk lamp off banggood, but must say this is my least favorite HomeKit device to date. It takes forever to update in the home app and I get a no response in the home app almost 35-45 percent of the time. Unlike you they shipped me lamp they sent me the European plug when I ask for the American version lol. So if you want to switch plugs let me know I’ll take care of the shipping 😂 I was looking at floor lamps to add to my basement/man cave/movie room and wanted to take advantage of the new adaptive lighting in HomeKit for my movie nights. I will probably go the route Hue lights as I am looking at the hdmi sync as well. Great vid as always can’t wait to see the next one! Oh BTW have you heard of the new Ryse smart shades? That's interesting. I've been very happy with there performance of my yeelight lamps (the bedside lamp, the table lamp pro, and now the floor lamp)...minus the obvious things mentioned in this video regarding the floor lamp. But they have all been very reliable for me in HomeKit. Never had any "no response" issues. But yea, for floor lamps, I think the best bet is to get your favorite (dumb) lamps and add some smart color bulbs. Hue is the way to go if you want to add the HDMI sync box for sure. Haven't heard of the ryse shades. Looks like those are only for shades with a beaded cord loop, which I don't have any of. Hope you have good luck with them!

Oh wow! That’s surprising that just one feature isn’t supported in HomeKit; that is disappointing. We have carpet so I know it wouldn’t stand a chance here because our other lamps can wobble a bit in certain rooms.
