First of all, Homelander was stabbed by the 3rd most powerful Supe alive, rendering your claim about the pen far lesser than you make it seem. Your claim about Vought exaggerating everything does have some merit, but they were obviously willing to test their claims by sending Homelander into war with the military, getting him hit with the same weapons they claim he could withstand. That makes them seem very, very confident of Homelander's abilities. They didn't really falsify that much. He was hit by SB and v'd up Highie and Butcher, and still came out with very minor bruises. That oven was also so hot, it could completely get rid of that scientist in seconds, meaning that was a pretty hot oven which clearly had no lasting marks on Homelander. The dude is not aging like crazy. You forget, he is in his 40s and is under so much stress rn, that would turn any man's hair gray. Stan called Homelander a bad product to manipulate Homelander into needing more approval from Vought. I doubt he actually meant it. And even if he was, he would probably be talking about his desperate need for approval. I doubt Stan would find that a very savory trait in HL despite it being necessary. This could be a good theory, but I just don't see it happening. Who knows though, only tine will tell. Looking forward to see if this theory comes true or not.

This while impressive suggesting great strength and durability is so many orders of magnitude below a nuclear weapon. The heat required to evaporate someone is 3000 degrees c which we can guess might be the ovens upper temperature considering it didnt evaporate the scientist but it did turn him to ash whiel presumably far from reaching it's max. Homelander experienced pain from this heat which is whole 1000 times lower than the heat produced by a nuclear bomb. Basically if u managed to hit him with a nuke ud probably fuck him up.

@@Charlieandp well with the Maeve thing, I would say that her greatest feat is hurting Homleander aside from that, she hasn't really been shown to try. She obviously wasn't trying when she got hit by the car, so she has no upper feats we can compare her with, meaning we can't say that she doesn't hit as hard as a nuke. We also can't say that she does, so it's all up to speculation kn that part. I will say, however, that it doesn't make sense for that metal straw to be in one piece after that. They were literally hit by cars and bullets that had no effect on them. I think the metal straw surviving is kinda a very minor plot hole or something. With the oven thing, we know that presumably the max heat wasn't enough tk hurt Homelander that bad, just enough to make him feel pain, and that was when he was a little kid. I wouldn't say that it is reaching to assume that he can withstand even higher temps now. I still believe that Vought was being truthful in their claims about Homelander, due to the fact that they were literally willing to send him off into war and into the military to prove and test those claims of being able to withstand the weapons.

They sent him to take the place of special forces against some paramilitary groups, hardly a real test of his abilities. Regardless i think its quite clear from a narrative perspective most modern weapon systems would just daze or slow homelander down at best. Its just on paper those weapons feats are far more impressive than any of the supes physical striking that has hurt homelander in the show. I think you have to either accept that their feats are all they have for now and the rest is just hype from a saleswoman or accept the show fails to portray its characters power properly. Honestly i think the nukes are bullshit but outside of that nothing conventional could work on the man. Then again...
